how to VERTICALLY center a div within the body?

this is an unanswered thread from before… i’m developing a really hard moment arranging divs on the page. i appear to have worked most of it out, but still we can’t center/vertical-align this main div inside window/body. on the web align divs without setting specific px as well as % margins for you to them ps: why doesn’t WDF make it possible for css attachments As part of your page div, put in place Also, take out this height: 100%; for the reason that it’s useless. setting the perimeter to 0 along with auto doesn’t have an effect on the positioning on the div. taking out the " useless" height shrinks the div down to a sliver! i’d like to see the #page div that they are centered on your screen/body….. anyone have every other suggestions Also, it’s because that you’re using absolute positioning to the div. If you place it at general, it might do the job. anyone out there realize how to get a nested div in order to vertical-align: middle Also my lord, I had been reading your question wrong the full time… I’m remorseful! Now I look like and idiot Ok , i’ll offer this: http: … Continue reading

No scroll 800 X 600 – even possible?!

Greetings all. Here’s my own problem: I’m making the fresh site for my personal church. The man who is essentially directing me informs me that he wants it to fit into an 800 X 600 res minus the window scrolling. He wants the nav for the screen at all times, and he desires a scrolling box to the content. I’ve been enjoyable the man for a little bit with the notion because he would seem really adamant about this, but now Now i’m thinking that it’s more or less impossible. I think just about any normal user of the site will probably have 768 X 1024 as a minimum, so I wish to throw away EIGHT HUNDRED X 600. Can it be just me, or are his goals with this layout unrealistic Looking at the max dimensions at 800 BACK BUTTON 600, the site must fit into some sort of 770 X 430 px common box! Therefore, any idea what I should do or tell him I must mention that dropping him is just not an option. Effectively, there are stats somewhere nevertheless 1024×768 is now a more common resolution in comparison with 800×600. I think a vey important thing … Continue reading

The art form displayed shall be in sequential variety (i. e. comics, manga) with multiple pages related to each story, so I understand that navigation can be key. Now what Now i’m left with is some white space on the side of your page. What need is the site to fill the actual browser space….. I’ll attach a new screen shot in order that its even more clear what I’m talking about. 800 pixels widths are OK… You may center that SIX HUNDRED pixel page with any size cell phone…. wrapping all this inside a div of which gets centered on the browser: body perimeter: 0px auto; text-align: heart; content wider: 800px; text-align: kept; < body> < div id=" center" > … anything in here < /div> < /body> Cool but what about the white area WITH THANKS The reason the truth is white space to the side of your internet site in the browser is because your screen resolution is focused to something large than 800 back button 600.
