Cannot Connect to FTP

Hello, 2 , 3 weeks ago I got no problems registering to two servers through ftp. Now they do not work. My organization is trying through SmartFTP, Dreamweaver, plus IE. None may accept my usernames or perhaps passwords, which I am aware are correct. I also tried to have help from my hosting service. They were able to connect using the username and password, but for whatever reason I cannot via my computer. I get " a great ftp error features ocurred" or " would not connect because this target machine definitely refused it. " There has to be anything on my machine that will prevent ftp accesss by all programs this way I have allowed full entry to all of my own ftp programs throughout my firewall. Thanks for the help! Did you attempt simply disabling your firewall While FTP programs happen to be granted full entry, it may are enabled incorrectly, or there will probably be something else there preventing an association. Try turning the firewall off, after which it connecting. I tried this to help no avail. I’m not sure what would have happened to my machine in a little while that would block access out of … Continue reading

Forum Layout

Hi everyone I need help on brussels. I am in the act of writing a forum script, but one problem My business is facing constantlly is easy methods to display so a lot information without cluttering in place the interface. For instance, take a typical post on WDF (or almost every other typical forum). This contains the the actual poster’s alias, avatar, lots of solutions (edit, view account, etc), and even more. Now multiply that per post in this thread, and you get lots of info to screen… But WDF’s design is just not messy. Some forums are messy though. So I have two questions: What elements does one like/dislike seeing in forums What the heck is your favourite design for these factors To present you something I considered: do you just like the poster’s alias above the post so they can its left (like about WDF) Almost every other comments, like smiley help, HTML support, and so on are welcome! Significantly appreciated. I believe, I wouldn’t develop the forums centered inside window or develop the users information who’s posting the reply or starting your thread above that text, I’d have this forums left aligned as well as auto stretch … Continue reading

checking website in NS and IE browsers

I will be creating my own website with no html editors. Concerning the website built also it looks great in IE that’s my default cell phone browser. My page links inside the page works very good and from linking page to page, ie going with the home page to help page one, web site two and web site three in IE. However next time i open it up in NS the links in the same page as well as links to open other three pages won’t work. Could this often be because NS is not really my current default visitor I rather fresh at this so I hope I have created myself clear. I have looked at and rechecked in addition to all links is very much set up so. My links to help other websites works fine in NS. Thanks for almost any help. Your default browser will not cause an error like that, it’s just an additional example of the best way IE and Netscape render pages differently. With out seeing the computer code, I’d guess that there is an error in your own syntax, because IE is quite forgiving in terms of HTML mistakes, along with browsers … Continue reading

Please help Re: Site design

This is a bit much to be able to ask but I really need advice by someone with a little bit of knowledge We need to build a site that will require a customer entering information in to a dynamic form and those details might then be instantly posted onto an HTML page. We’d then need to be able to construct a easy to use search facility for you to enable other clients to ‘read’ this posted comments. We’d aslo like available a ‘feedback’ / rating system just like that used by Ebay but is not essential. We are currently using Dreamweaver MX when my WYSIWYG arrangement and my ISP currently offers this services: CGI (Upload individual scripts is permitted) My personal SQL The ISP does not yet support ASP (Frontpage extensions) I have designed various sites with Dreamweaver during the past and have utilised formmail etc has worked fine. Possible have a ordinary form – CGI publishing facility but this would mean physically being forced to cut / paste information to the displaying page every time. Should you choose decide to offer you me any information – thanks before hand. PS: We are trying to function this out currently … Continue reading

Type pad

Right We were just browsing around a few sites looking for suggestions about adding good content material to my site when immediately I stumbled throughout Type pad. I read this article about it which can be found at http: //www. alistapart. com/articles/typepad/ and would choose to know if any one has had virtually any experience with TypePad during the past From what I have read about that, it sounds any pretty handy bit of kit. There exists a little more over it at http: //www. typepad. com/site/about/ Now is it worth covering this tool or are available other applications around which are just as excellent and better costed I dont like the thought of paying monthly really. Any comments in addition to feedback on this would be great regards, Daniel. For no reason had any prior experience, however the price they are asking for doesn’t look through the top, and even their most basic package has a significant host of functions. I guess the best thing to do is to try their intended ‘free’ 30 day trial to check out what its like. Yeah, I can do tomorrow, I read though all the articles and have done a reasonable amount … Continue reading

Beginning elements ok?

So guys……… here I go again. We have attached an example. jpg of what We have started on for the new www. thomasinamusic. com. POST haven’t added almost any nav bars, content, or anything like this yet. This is the beginning features. Please tell me what you think, as a kick off point, or any strategies or comments. And to note: I have designed this in a very 800 X SIX HUNDRED canvas in Photoshop. I don’t know if that is correct or certainly not, or if WHEN I should bump it as much as 1024 X 768. Once more, thanks for just about all comments/suggestions. gretsky I truly feel that the colors are drastically wrong. Perhaps a white background 800×600 is definitely prefered, but it’s up to people. But it never hurts to be nice to people in lower resolutions! One particular note though, an individual running in 800×600 cannot naturally see exactly 800×600 for their browser. http: //hotwired. lycos. com/webmonkey/99/41/index3a_page2. htmltw=design That is the useful page this shows the ‘true’ shareable size for websites in various windows in various file sizes. It really is definently a video heavy site. I would go on and try it that has … Continue reading
