W3C validation

I became wondering how the majority of you make in force W3C websites. I did a search by using yahoo for internet site design and I cecked the initial 10 companies detailed and none of these are W3C legitimate. How important it really is that the web pages you create are usually W3C valid All my sites comform towards the W3C specifications. I think it is significant more people start designing their web sites with web standards. Although I do not believe that it is vital that that they " vailidate" for the W3C validator. When you have attempted to get near it then sometimes that could be well enough. The validator is merely to check as a result of your work. It doesn’t detect everything. If your webblog validates it doesn’t mean your site conforms to the online standrds. For example We’ve designed a internet site with tables to support present the system, something which may be known as a big no no in lots of web standard advocate’s eye balls, and still got it to confirm. You are advised not to do so having tables and use then only for tabular data. People not prepared change from utilizing … Continue reading

I use CSS for those visual aspects regarding my websites. Easily am starting by myself site where I’ve complete control covering the markup, I employ CSS entirely. Easily am designing regarding vBulletin (a hint with the future ), then I try to write CSS in which modifies the markup without changing the markup unless necessary. vBulletin uses tables everywhere, that is very frustrating throughout designing sites. Moreover, it uses conference tables when tabular data seriously isn’t even used. i use tables for just one good reason. ive simply been makin web sites for about ONLY TWO. 5 years today i dont learn anything but HTML and tips on how to read Java and also PHP. i havent touched CSS yet CSS. The reason why A) it will allow better control; B) it’s the future, so better get on board sooner rather compared to later; C) it’s " new": Patient desigining sites to get over 4 decades, but only not too long ago moved … Continue reading

What’s Everyone Got Against Tables???

I can remember a while back while i asked what has been so bad regarding using frames, I was given many compelling reasons why they should be avoided. Flash forward many years later and now out of the blue I’m checking out and about the Open Source Web design, and it amounts to just almost every web site is bragging about how exactly they built the full thing without tables. No tables Exactly what is the reasoning behind which The reasons Better alternatives in div’s, spans, absolute positioning, and CSS. Fact is we were holding designed to present tabular data, not tailored for designing websites. However as a developer you should utilize what you look is needed given that your client won’t object. As an illustration I have not used tables within a while, but used these to outputdata retrieved at a database. Hope this helps Most definately helps, thanks. Now all that remains is designed for me to evaluate how those websites practice it with the divs and spans and total positioning and css. absolute positioning will last somewhat abstract layouts. If all you would like is a SEVERAL x 2 box layout, use platforms. It’s basically the suitable … Continue reading

XXX

XXXXX The current site horrible! Every change would enhance it! You’ll find nothing fancy about plastic-type cutlery, but you can also make a more comfortable eyepleasing presentation involving it. SOME SORT OF simpler design (for GARY.. sake loose each of the chopping rotating imagery). An entire site is dim, and the low-resolution images adds to the low quality experience. The other major problem, is its mixture of non compatible components. There are Dreamweaver template-Flash buttons put together with low quality imagery and black wording on dark qualifications. There’s no persistence in design. Everything is usually a mumble jumble of different design elements that are poorely designed separately, and that as a result of negative synergy, increases the absolute failure of composition and also design. Make it simpler, use text and not images where achievable, make it lighter in taste in overall speech. Include a picture from the factory or development hall (not intrusive) at your house page. Make easy non-fancy direction-finding, and AVOID BY ALL MEANS horizontal scrolling!!!!!! That is certainly an absolute fantastic. Have an image beside the each element while in the order form, and loose the actual horrible default ‘table-look’ while in the tabular data speech area! … Continue reading

Here is that link: http: //andibair. com. istemp. com/benchFitness/html/index. html The site exhibits perfectly in Mozilla firefox although in IE this tables are messed ” up ” as you might be able to see. Anybody have any advice for us as to what we can do to create it work intended for both browsers. Any ideas for the coding Krystle Avoid using a table with regard to non-tabular data. Types of class is this where it really is ok to utilize a table But MY SPOUSE AND I don’t see virtually any difference between Firefox 3, IE6, and IE7. It is a web design school 1) Many of us don’t do homework or student assigments. 2) Avoid using < table>… make use of CSS and < div> pertaining to layouts. 3) In case your " web design class" teacher is having buy < table> vertisements for layouts, tell your teacher to show you about CSS in addition to non-table layouts.

CSS or Tables

Do you find it best to: Design a website so it is completely table-less OR…… Design a website where you work with tables for layout and CSS regarding presentation Continually #1 without exemption, although keep in your mind tables are the precise thing to use when representing tabular information. Use < div> rather than table and CSS with regard to presentation setting up Div for system and CSS with regard to presentation… Meh, you are doing know that they’re saying that tables should by no means be used (even intended for tabular data)… instead you’re designed to use < dt> < dd> tags.. I haven’t completely grasped/accepted that idea truthfully speaking but I do know from my a lot more recent research that tables = awful. Nonsense. In case you have data that is actually naturally represented implementing column headers and also rows, it’s any table by distinction. dl/dd/dt is just for lists of meanings. The entire point of semantic markup could be to use the label that describes the images, and a table is okay at describing a new table. Googling XHTML Validation and Tables…. I obtained enough links to choke a mule along with… But this guy seems … Continue reading
