School Website: What things to take into consideration?

What things should I take into accounts when making some sort of school website Graduating website. I’ll be going there the coming year. Modernize actually, current web site sucks: http: //mtdoug. sd61. bc. ca/ The sole important thing I will think of… Make sure you check with the administration on which can be submitted online. Some have rules about publishing photos without a new parent’s permission. A blog or guestbook might also contain " questionable" written content. You may be subject to a lot of editing. Actuali, site code is clear and light. Maybe visual is litle out of date but not thus bad, so " site sux" is for you to hard sed. Examine other students manufactured sites. I think ours is prity fine.

css browser compatibility

i’m having difficulty my css web pages…. my html pages show up fine in IE, but hd seem to reference/link towards the stylesheet when opened up in Netscape or even Firefox. any obvious tips i would be missing—-differences involving IE and Netscape and Firefox which i need to signal my css or perhaps html differently to get my pages to use the styles regards! -averan May well help if you can actually provide a reference on the page(s) you’re referring to. i could paste the entire page of code for the css and html code pages, other as compared with that, i are deprived of any site or perhaps pages online…. their all on the computer. Help!!!! MAC is ruining my life!!!

All right, seriously, I hear MAC is best for Web Style and design, but every program I familiar with use on my PC is only for windows… I just now got a apple computer, and I have no idea what programs I am suposted to utilize. Does anyone other than them have MAC that will tell me things to get I helpful to use Notepad in addition to Crimson Editor, and neither FTP Pro or 3D-FTP will continue to work on this technique either. I am gonna have to know Dreamweaver eventually, but I prefer to never use it right this moment, only one major change during a period is all I’ll handle…. I am guessing there have to be some basic courses on here that will do just as well, but I was so un-MAC savvy i always don’t even know where to check…. more browser help with div positionins

we’ve got 2 divs, 1 layered onto the other being a smaller textbox….. the html page results fine in IE, centered inside the window, and the textbox will be the right size, nevertheless, in Firefox the textbox doesn’t respect its dimensions and it is too tall plus wide!!…. plus, the main page is definitely not centered. i would like the background div #frame for being centered in many browsers, and i desire the div #textbox to be positioned relative on the div #frame to ensure it can be the correct size. i favor having the #textbox being a div so the text can scroll, but would them be better for positioning to set-up a table within #frame to keep a td for the content of this div #textbox attached is you html page as well as css as some sort of txt file (wdf won’t okay upload css files) thanks for all the great responses!

Designing a new site
