Good day all,
Relating to recently created a good FTP site at Windows server 2003 and We’ve a user profile especially for this FTP website. All works well, the user logs on with all the profile/password and tnhey can cause folders.. view documents.. etc. I have now created another page with more limited access, designed only to let people look at, no delete as well as create privedges, nevertheless it refuses to work. I have even given this new profile the identical permissions as the first but it nonetheless refuses to log into your FTP folder. And also allow access for the folder that contains the HTML document that ahs this FTP folder BUT I get this error message when wanting to log onto the actual FTP folder… " one occured opening the folder about the FTP server. Be sure you have permission to reach this folder. Particulars 550/ftpfoldername: The system cannot chose the file specified. " Strange thing is that if I apply an FTP system and log-on on this account it allows me use of that FTP folder. Virtually any ideas
Thank you,
Mitch……..
It sounds like your chmod conflicts with all the new user page. Sorry, I use nix a good deal for most connected with my work. In the event the first account which works was an original one set up over the creation of that ftp, my guess usually this first account is placed as online resources the site. Therefore, the second user just isn’t an owner as well as being not allowed to examine the same elements. I’m not guaranteed how chmod succeeds for server 2003, but here may be a link from when you search I did.

In addition:
CHMOD is required to set examine, write, and do permisions.
Many thanks, that makes best sense. I’ll look into the link you posetd and see what I can do.
Kind regards again…
