Forum URL ?
MY SPOUSE AND I use invisionboard along with my forum reaches www. 12noon. net/forum We’ve also set up a brand new URL http: //forum. 12noon. net and thought that address would be the better one to work with. Regardless my question is usually: – How to make the innovative URL show from the address bar, but maintain the old URL active in order that my old users can still discover my forum : ichatnervous: Put the forum under the fresh url and have old one just redirect that you the new one particular Best idea that is certainly. The one reliable way to help change the target bar text is always to use a minor frame. But, as we all know, frames are evil and among the list of evil properties of this application are that this address bar wording would then never change if your forum links are generally clicked. Hold on tight… normally if you place up subdomains community. mysite. com is mysite. com/forum So are they not the same directory Or even am I not universally known something Sean Biscuits might work though, but yes, in the matter of CPanel that’s ordinarily true.

Meeting a client… What to do exactly?
So Im specialist taking my web design to a brand-new level. Recently Ive designed websites for friends along with friends of buddies. Now i wanna advertise my services a lttle bit and meet people and discuss what they desire in a web site. So what should i do – Design a software form and obtain them to load it in and send it to me – Meet them face to manage and get them to fill in the form in my presence along with my help – Ask them for you to send me upon any adverts, flyers etc related to their biz after which it design a website from that A bit by bit guide would be great if any person is expert with this area! Thanks. Forms will be for computers. If you can’t know what you need to talk about along with prospective clients, it is best to probably go take some basic enterprise classes somewhere, or maybe scratch the idea all together. I require a very personal approach with all my meetings. People today judge you with things you woulnd’t perhaps belive. You may t hink it is stupid to push 20 minutes to meet with … Continue reading

Client wants to steal my design
Let me explain shortly. A web site hosting company wanted a brand new design. So I said not a problem, you’ll have it in a week or thus. After I showed the form, the client had been very picky, but I taken everything he obtained and changed the form. When I inquired him about this salary he reported that he taught I’m doing the work for free! Could you believe that! Then I said i won’t give my design to your ex, because he’s not necessarily paying. He threatened my home that he’ll stop my web host if I usually give it in order to him. (I use a site hosted there) I said that i won’t give this design again. After several weeks he asked me that will him (for totally free AGAIN) design " his" web-site. Obviously he made something through the jpg-s I bought him and he really wants to put it with his site. What ought to be a do! I have the PSD file and We can prove that the look is mine. Threaten a lawsuit and he can come to her senses. Funny guy that hosting guy. Yes, I don’t think he really wants … Continue reading

Site Promotion, HOW?!
Without doubt guys, I’m looking to promote my brand new site (I wouldn’t name it here), and I been curious about if any of you had any tips with promotion. I wish to bring in as a minimum 100 people to get started on (it’s a forum), so how do you think I should attempt this Thanks ahead of time, there’s always the usual " dressing upward as Batman and also scaling Buckingham Development. " find forums that have people interested throughout what you advertise, or that relate with your business. be helpful in this forum. try to not ever let on that you’re only in that forum just for this purpose… oops! join mailing lists that have people reading who will be interested in what exactly you provide. if they ask questions, respond and be handy. don’t let on you are only replying in an effort to promote yourself. Oops… MY SPOUSE AND I gotta stop chatting so loud… but isn’t it identical thing finally i mean, should you be nice to someone and you also give them zero cost advice, something you actually get purchased and that hi-def have a idea about, you could possibly be (in your … Continue reading

new web site works fine everywhere except my clients network
Howdy, I have recently built a fresh website for some sort of client to substitute his existing web page. I have transfered his exiting URL towards new site as well as old site continues to be disabled. The new site is uploaded towards host and works fine when entered from anywhere but along at the clients business target. The client even now gets the previous website when he / she enters the URL despite the fact that its no more online. His business system PCs are powering a router(not guaranteed of brand) along with im thinking the router is a problem. Any help diagnosing this problem would be considerably appreciated!…… RK Appears like there’s something in the cache… Try doing http: //site. comx – in the event that he then gets the brand new site it’s surely a caching issue (normally whether a page has details to it the cache will probably be ignored). How long are you trying If fat loss find where the cache would it be is perfectly possible it will eventually disappear in some hours. Sean.

Brand new to web design this Newbie Needs Assitance.
Hi I’m brand new to web development a complete (Newbie) I’m eager to learn how to build web web pages. I just purchased Learning Website development from Halfbay. com is this a good start Can someone provide me that has a few starting tips I must do, buy, get, purchase, read Such as books to examine, software to invest in, websites to visit Any kind of and all guide is appreciated many thanks.: cheeky: The book you have is a superb start, yes. Furthermore, go to the bookstore and find some books in HTML. There certainly are a ton out there, but by likely to the bookstore themselves, you can select ones that you consider you can learn with and ones that suits you. As long as software, Dreamweaver is actually a good get started. You can use the HTML code and even get a WYSIWYG formatting. Both good to get a beginner. As long as websites, just go that will different forums such as this one and see what you possibly can learn from these people or who probably have different advice that will work for you. Below are a few good sites: http: //htmldog. com/ http: //www. tips-tricks. … Continue reading

new mock-up
I’ve truly started a concept up of this future update plus was wondering precisely what you guys thought http: //farm1. static. flickr. com/171/393120478_4f5a5eeea8_o. jpg its on the flickr as their too big to put on here! Looks good but shouldnt this has been posted in hows our site well i contemplated that, but after looking at the blurb of the starting out segment: i felt that this was more ideal Yes, that definitely belongs the following. How’s My Site ought to be for *finished* web sites, as I understand it, which is the reason I’m often tempted to maneuver threads from around there to around here: -P Of course, How’s My Site is perfect for designs already applied into (X)HTML plus hopefully CSS. Static images associated with designs belong these or in other forums here since you can’t rate aspects such as download speed, handiness, and browser compatibility with a screenshot. ye seems to make more sense these days So, what can you all think I do believe it looks lovable… But it appears so simple. Is there going to become nav bar as well as anything yep, i’ve made a brand new one with nav that i’ll upload while … Continue reading

Need help with layout problem
We’ve a layout problem that i can’t figure away. I had our company website all complete and it looked great, or even so I believed. I designed this using Frontpage THE YEAR 2003 then cleaned in place the bloated Code Frontpage tends to be able to leave behind. I checked the site on IE7, Firefox, plus Netscape. It considered fine, functioned as Needed and I thought We were done. The problem- Thought about a visitor email me which includes a complaint about the website as a jumbled up, unreadable play. Pictures were overlapping wording, none of the actual < div> were where they were said to be or anything. It looked great on all three browsers i checked. I could not see a one problem. I examined it on my own 19" monitor, some sort of 17" monitor during both 800×600 res and on 1024×768, Still no problems I could truthfully see. I discovered the email was bogus. I checked that on another pc that used AOL plus it was a wreck! I saw anything the emailer explained! My first thought was ?t had been strictly an AOL issue but then I noticed the email came from verizon. net, meaning … Continue reading

new portfolio crit
just need a little crit on the final layout before we build more of the site. what does one like… and what does one not just about any opinions welcome http: //www. paulcurley. com/PORT2/index. php I’m keen it. It would not make me state " WOW! " but I do as if it. Nice, sparkling simple layout….. good us going for color. The sole thing that mixed up me was that Recent Projects I thought it turned out still loading (since this reveals to bottom out). Appearance good though. Only thing I will say is the actual Recent Projects (the " s" in projects) can be behind the border of the flash, so it looks slightly off…… bring this forward should fix that. None of the page are connected, so can’t declare anything there. So good, looks good….. sorry, only spent a few hrs on the site last night (design and dev) so it was only that page i obtained semi done. in terms of the ‘recent’ subject overlapping, i presume you looking at in something rather than FF once again i became rushing to obtain a bit of crit, wasn’t sure i became going down the proper route. do … Continue reading
