pictures not showing

We have had pictures with my site for any year with very little problems. A day or two ago I put in some new images. the page is actually showing correctly with all the images showing upon Firefox but on IE some of the new images will be only shown utilizing descriptions and the insufficient red x. Some new photographs are showing and several are not. I tried deleting all the page and loading it again for the server which is still not functioning. We have received a couple of emails from people today saying the pictures are certainly not there. What regarded as a do They beware of in Firefox and not in IE.
