Clients Who want to update !
Hi I have a new client who wants to update his web-site on his private but doesnt comprehend html etc. What do a person guys do whenever your clients want to edit text links etc every day Cheers Build a CMS. What the hell is always that and are they hard to develop a cms can be a content management method. It is almost just like a blog, but much more well structured. It is generally dynamic, coded with php or something similar to pearl. There are interfaces for not so well learned people that make including content simple. Many different templates is usually created to cater to a number of different document kinds. Search around for many content management programs, there are lots of good GNU GPL developed systems out now, and I’m sure you’ll be able to buy a great cms to if you want a simpler route to completion. -Joe I hate the idea of " CMS" by myself. Anything that appears to be corporate is disgusting in my opinion. However, the best thing that you can do is to get a half-decent online WYSIWYG publisher. This is usually less expensive than the particular " CMS" computer … Continue reading

Looking for a web site building program
Good day, i am only woundering if ya’ll know where I could get Or the name of your Really good website development program. We were using Trellix but it really isn’t what My business is looking for. Thanks to your help. , but it could be better to find out XHTML because then you definitely have more manipulate over what people build Despite exactly how good the instrument is, you can only make brilliant sites once you learn one of the structure languages. Notepad. ZERO, NO, NO, ZERO, NO and NO! Not necessarily Notepad, use the internet site search functionality to understand why. Mainly for the reason that using Notepad isn’t 133t anymore (and provides never been). vi; -) Sean ps. one of my colleagues uses a software called Antenna.. have no idea how good it can be, but he seems to want it. http: //www. stormdance. freeserve. company. uk/dx/antenna html editor/overview. htm notepad will be fine, although i guess Edit Plus can also be good. Notepad is great for those who have a tiny website, with little in the way of code. Whenever you get past with regards to 500 lines you will need code colouring plus character/line labelling … Continue reading

Art Gallery questions
Hi. I’m currently trying to build a web-site for an artist I know. I have made a php script that may insert the thumbnails on auto-pilot by reading them out of particular folders, so all that is required is to breakup with more pics within the folders, it succeeds fine. A couple questions: A SINGLE: Each one pic is surrounded by an < a> tag considering the href being something like " large_pics/". $file. ". php" so each picture automatically points towards the php page with the large version of the pic on the item. For example " large_pics/still_life. php" and so on. etc. Now if i wanted to merely make one article " large_pic. php" and insert that relevant pic in it would better IMHO – singular page to compose, more flexibility, and so on. etc. Just how do i pass the info from your thumbnails page into the large_pic page with regards to which pic it really is All I have to send is this variable " $file" by one page for you to another, so you select the thumbnail point out " still_life" and it also opens " large_pic. php" and also inserts the " $file" straight … Continue reading

New to all this – lots of questions!
So well, basically I’m almost fresh to web layout, and I’ve also been learning CSS, HTML PAGE and photoshop. Along the route I’ve gathered up a handful of questions that It’s safe to really appreciate the particular answers to! So so firstly, in addition to CSS and HTML CODE, what other ‘languages’ do I need to read if I’m to design some decent sites Also, how do you form of, integrate photoshop internet sites into dreamweaver, in addition to add in CSS, text etc How much do you have to make throughout photoshop, or at the least, what’s the limit of what you ought to create in illustrator and then what you should leave to CSS etc I tried building a whole site throughout photoshop, but I came across a variety of problems when WHEN I tried putting this into dreamweaver, like steps to make it a smooth layout I had really appreciate quite a few answers, especially to help my second problem! Thanks for your efforts! 1. Absolutely no other languages, that they are strict. The two alone are able to do a pretty useful site. But then you’ll probably want to look at either Javascript, which is a … Continue reading
Conteset Entry form
this doesnt say the actual server name im guessing the password for that php script may be the password for our database The password is probably the one for your user, but perhaps this does mean a person’s database password (I imagine that your host can be making you supply one user per database). Just test it. so my DB_HOST could well be godaddy. com in the event that lost there and every one of the DB_USER, DB_Password.. all these upon all script files have to be replaced with the proper info, correct just wanna make sure b/c i recognize php uses rules.. alot Very little, those are constants emerge the config. php file. You only need to change them there, which is the main purpose of config. php – if many files depend upon certain variables, you possibly can set it there and have it influence all pages. Your host would most likely be " localhost", while I said ahead of. But you will need to just ask your current hosting company in regards to the correct mysql_connect() purpose. I’m sure it looks for instance an uphill challenge using homemade pieces of software, but in the finale they’ll provide … Continue reading

Adding a search engine to a website.
Particularly, in the years I’ve been designing and developing websites, I’ve only been asked to increase a search engine one or two times. One more time I managed it, I made use of Googles freebee. (a few years ago) That doesn’t are most often available any much more. The client is really a non-profit, so I’ll check with Google to examine if they still produce their free site search intended for that type regarding organization. Inside mean time, I’ve started exploring for another remedy and just thought about if anyone in existence had any suggestions, or experience with a simple to install, comprehensive search results. Free would often be best, (again, this can be a non-profit) but whenever it’s cheap and works, any idea could be welcome. With thanks. Addendum: I just now found this: http: //www. yahoo and google. com/coop/cse/ This might solve my problems, but again, always looking for solutions so, if anyone incorporates a better alternative, I’d still thankyou. Thanks. https: //www. yahoo and google. com/adsense/adsense-products Subscribe to an adsense account then look at " Adsense to get search" http: //www. myspace. com/watchv=qEwxC9hrxM4 And also this gives them the flexibility to earn ad revenue when people click … Continue reading

Converting .mov to .flv, server side?
Hello there, I’m working for your client who would choose to add the flexibility to upload videos for their website through that CMS we designed them. The clips will probably be uploaded as. mov files after which you can I need in order to convert them to help. flv during the particular upload process. Trouble is I don’t know how to do this and the additional I look in to it the more this reveals we’re not going every single child do it. I’ve found various packages which will do it, but I do not think I can work with them with our shared hosting balances. I think this would be perfect, but I are deprived of the rights to setup it – http: //www. sothinkmedia. com/flash-vi… x/download. htm. So being honnest I’ve kinda arrive at the conclusion that it is not going to always be possible. But wanting to know if anyone features any ideas It is really quite possible. I’ve written software twice that really does it completely server-side (*nix). Basically, use some creatively-constructed command-line quarrels to ffmpeg: http: //www. ffmpeg. org/. I’d probably violate a strong NDA or some thing with more details though the gist of … Continue reading

having problems edting a site on web.com
I currently have a site with net. com. Here may be the link: www. microfusionwelding. com I created a background that has a logo in Illustrator CS4, and would want to add it to existing page. Recommendations my problem. Can’t move direction-finding and why could be the page not scrolling I’ve attached a jpeg connected with what’s happening. Anybody got any insights. Thanks Dan You get what you spend on.:: shrug:: Proprietary expertise like web. com are infamous for providing little flexibility to promote. I think you can be better away from asking them immediately… most people listed here are professional web makers, and so get little experience along with DIY tools for instance web. com. All the best!
