newbie question!

Hey guys I used to be wondering if anyone would be able to help me out having a quick problem that is definitely driving me crazy! Say I have a page style done in fireworks…. the particular graphics and word etc. is all done there. In that case I export this to. html so I will edit it even more in dreamweaver. All of the text I acquired done in fireworks has become in a. gif structure…… and when I check out it in dreamweaver after which click on " edit" so I will modidy it throughout fireworks, I are unable to change the copy! Need Help first website… but not too noob =/

Hey guys/gals that is my first time posting and my very first time that actually making my own website. I am excellent in photoshop and still have tried messing by using websites before however the most i’ve obtained was sites performed in frontpage as well as dreamweaver.
