spry Menu Bar – not displaying correctly in IE

We’ve an issue which has a a spry drop-down menus bar. It should resemble this: http: //i303. photobucket. com/albums/nn134/mr-skill/Picture23. png In Firefox & Safari it appears to be fine but in IE appears this: http: //i303. photobucket. com/albums/nn134/mr-skill/Picture24. png If it arrived on the scene like that within Firefox I’d think it was because the div that contain the spry club was too small but that isn’t the case – can be seen the yellow outline with the div in the primary pic, and it’s bigger as opposed to spry element. Every ideas Usually ie6 or SEVERAL or both It’s usually margin and/or foam with ie6 and perhaps sometimes 7. DW does a okay job making those spry menus work in everything, until you mess with all the css. Have you experimented with making the div a bit wider Start having 20px wider first. If that maintenance tasks it, then it is a width problem. Hopefully you can also make it wider without messing up your layout. Otherwise, you may have to have a ie mend. When the site is dwell, can you place a link so I could tinker around for it That gave me the clue POST needed, … Continue reading

advice on gifs please?

Hi there. would like to work with gif for a website I am working away at but the shadows or gradients emerge flat & nasty. I’m for example, making a button in illustrator along with using drop darkness. I’ve it set for best quality & for many of the colors available. Could anyone suggest easy methods to solve this problem With thanks Don’t work with a gif for gradients, shadows, or perhaps photographs, Save it for a jpg. But I need to the transparency. that was the real reason for the gif. You need to use PNG, but for IE5, SIX (and 7), you must use a hack to repair their PNG problem. – doesn’t that drastically improve the file size I’ve the same difficulty with transparent gifs. I’m afraid I just now now do not forget the limitations while designing and do not incorporate shadows etc plainly know it’ll mean a see-thorugh gif. jpg seems to be OK. Only work with the original png’s with all the current extra info throughout them. You still have to export them for a web png. I’ve noticed microscopic size increases when using PNG. And when you’re dealing with shadows or gradients you’re … Continue reading

Favicons – how to ensure they show!

Hello there all. I’ve just joined and would like to know how, once uploaded for the root folder, favicons will probably show. Have pasted a link inside the header of this index page, nevertheless still no chance. Does anyone find out the code MY PARTNER AND I should use give us a link to your site (with your favicon that’s purported to show). JUST ONE. Make sure the file is called and is with your web root as well as being an actual ICO file generated by a good icon maker software (GIF, PNG, and many others, don’t work for everyone browsers). TWO. Add this line for the < head> of the HTML: The matter is that you’d probably visited as well as multiple times prior to uploaded the favicon, and so the cache does certainly not include it. Look at clearing your cache altogether, or looking for the site from some other browser. I’ve noticed of which favicons are really touchy utilizing display for the best couple days as soon as you first install them, but after they’ve got been there a bit they remain fairly consistent. Hello there Steven. Thank you a lot. I will try this. For … Continue reading

Never designed a site for someone else before, don’t know what to do!

At the end of this last school year, my web page design teacher introduced my family to someone who wanted several websites created, and he didn’t mind hiring student site designers. The first web site I’m working on I have to do on my own; however, I am more of an PHP coder and am significantly better at behind-the-scenes sorts of stuff, like sources and such. We have never designed a niche site for someone where they really want a specific look. I am getting the worst time ever receiving the site to look how an client wants it to appear. He wants that to be very similar to http: //www. mmc. com, and though I’ve tried to operate really hard to acquire everything how he / she wants, I was becoming very, very unmotivated because I am not doing good and am nervous about further disappointing him. I am just not your designer. This is what Concerning for the homepage to date: http: //img29. imageshack. us/img29/4209/mhkberakgjw. png POST created the tabbed spot in jQuery by myself, as I could not find any pre-made tabs that we could successfully put into practice. He seemed quite dissatisfied with that when i … Continue reading

The condition that I’m having is always that when I run the the site it adds a small amount to thicker (only about YOUR FIVE pixels or so). I’m less than sure why it’s working. I only want to buy to cover 100% in the page, not 100% plus several pixels. Easy way to use multiple domains to host images for one website in dreamweaver CS3?

Hi there, I’m new. I came here because I’ve an issue plus searching google isn’t helping. On a website we have produced, some of your pages have about 50 graphics in each page but it means even that has a fast internet connection it takes 15+ seconds in order to load those web pages. Using the page speed add-in along with firebug it firmly suggests I pass on those images all-around to 2-4 additional domains, as the web sites will load with more speed if all these types of image files are certainly not all coming on the same domain. Appears easy enough. On the other hand, I don’t get any idea in dreamweaver cs3 easy methods to easily tell dreamweaver the files are distinct places Your thoughts on this is appreciated. You might want to type the address manually regardless of the, also if you wish to do that is known as a content offering network, there are companies that provide that services, but they’re expensive, so maybe you can test to do which with another domain you could have but you might want to point the files on the other address, and others to the unique location, so … Continue reading
