Seeking "Manhattanesque" site design

G’day, I’m seeking web-sites — any sites at all that come to mind — that might serve being an inspiration for my own ring company site(s), the planning for which I’m outsourcing. I’m searching for something professional, management and business, " Manhattanesque" — realistic in design, helpful in structure, not having superfluous, unnecessary elements of any kind, a cognitive oasis, should you would, and created while using fullest regard for the reason for these site(s) — its form following it is function. The kind of site Howard Roark (points once you learn the reference! ) would love to visit. My firm is going to be offering web expert services, including: hosting; style; domain registration; support (via live chat plus a ticket system) for sure web-based applications; etc. The theme I’m seeking might inform the eventual design off sites of our company, from the central to the smallest subdivision. The input is liked. Thanks! Lyceum (John).

how to VERTICALLY center a div within the body?

this is an unanswered thread from before… i’m developing a really hard moment arranging divs on the page. i appear to have worked most of it out, but still we can’t center/vertical-align this main div inside window/body. on the web align divs without setting specific px as well as % margins for you to them ps: why doesn’t WDF make it possible for css attachments As part of your page div, put in place Also, take out this height: 100%; for the reason that it’s useless. setting the perimeter to 0 along with auto doesn’t have an effect on the positioning on the div. taking out the " useless" height shrinks the div down to a sliver! i’d like to see the #page div that they are centered on your screen/body….. anyone have every other suggestions Also, it’s because that you’re using absolute positioning to the div. If you place it at general, it might do the job. anyone out there realize how to get a nested div in order to vertical-align: middle Also my lord, I had been reading your question wrong the full time… I’m remorseful! Now I look like and idiot Ok , i’ll offer this: http: … Continue reading

Frames Navigation Dilemma

I am aware frames are essentially outdated and loathed, yet our site at present contains frames. We use it to keep a navigation bar to the screen at all times, so that users can mouse click on the links in the navigation bar to get away from whatever it is usually they’re viewing. Unfortuately, because of the fact the site is within frames, the main web site administrator has the idea set such that each clicked link has a base target associated with " _parent" and clicking for a link takes one to another framed page which contains the same navigation bar and the new page. (Say, the link was a connection to a comics part. Clicking on that link, loads a brand new frames page that contains the navigation bar available as one frame and the actual comics page in the other). The reason for this, or thus he says, is in order that people who enter your website from links they find over a search engine similar to Google, when clicking using a link will always regain the use of the navigation pub. I think, this defeats the reason for frames, which I see as a tool to … Continue reading

Using images found on the internet?

Okay I’m confused. Just how do i know which images I will use and which i can’t use when i search for photos online Mmm, therein is placed the rub. Generally speaking, copyrighted images say so either for the image or around the page where you get it. However, because of copyright laws being what there’re, if you locate an image, you basically have to assume you cannot use it if you don’t are explicitly told you possibly can. I’m reasonably sure this is how it works, someone else will correct us if I’m inappropriate. Correct. You will need to assume ALL images online are copyrighted. Mainly when you are to a web-site, even if the actual pictures don’t say these are copyrighted, just look down end of it and look at the disclaimer. As makers, we all placed that on there for the reason. If a site shows motive to copyright just about all material on their site (meaning their own disclaimer is vague), pics are included. Obviously the solely issue are stock options photos and usually you have to acquire them to obtain right to utilize them. Look at most of the stock photo web-sites like: digitstock, getty, … Continue reading

You need to remember that questions within the " Request A Service" forum, are from individuals who want a complete job done. They aren’t asking design or perhaps coding questions. They are prepared to pay people … Continue reading

Why Your Business Needs A Website

http: //treycopeland. net/2006/06/27/why-your-business-needs-a-website/ A large reason for using a web site is to attract new customers through google. These days, people turn to Google and yahoo to find offerings. If they missed your business, they’ll find your competitors’ web pages. A high-ranking web site is most likely the most cost-effective advertising tool. Translated to the other side with the web site…. Everyone else is doing it. Due to the fact we can To display a insufficient strategic direction or even ability to focus To broadcast to your wide audience the actual inability to converse information Last but not least, to communicate we hardly understand a digital economy. That would often be where attention reaches a premium, and wasting that user’s time by simply " having a site to find" will be pretty lame. A digital economy rewards differentiation and innovation. Create a unique business proposition along with a crystal clear prospect of a customer niche — certainly not raw traffic. …. and develop the site. That’s marketing. Consider the third, fifth and seventh product as well as service you’re going to sell to the buyer. . Stop developing web pages in a ambitious vacuum. Too many sites are 99% price … Continue reading

I’m back building a new site, and get the layout planned and created. Nevertheless, my main problem (and the thing I’m not way too good with) will be the colour scheme. You can view how far I have got here, without the need of content or anything: http: //chrisbrewster. co. uk/mm MY PARTNER AND I particularly want the actual purple in generally there, but I’m unsure the gradients job, or if your dark background causes it to become look tacky. I’m trying your fixed width and also centred layout this occassion round. You could possibly notice the left border being a bit thicker inside Firefox too. For whatever reason, the vertical line around the background image didn’t appear in IE7 (must be obscured through the other divs), nevertheless worked fine along with FF. So I put in a left border for peace of mind. Almost any ideas peeps Thanks. hey guy, same with my family. not very beneficial choosin colors but i nfind that site help guides me within the right direction. likewise got this JUST ONE from karrine (cheers btw) desire it helps Thanks, I’ll look in those.
