Never designed a site for someone else before, don’t know what to do!

At the end of this last school year, my web page design teacher introduced my family to someone who wanted several websites created, and he didn’t mind hiring student site designers. The first web site I’m working on I have to do on my own; however, I am more of an PHP coder and am significantly better at behind-the-scenes sorts of stuff, like sources and such. We have never designed a niche site for someone where they really want a specific look. I am getting the worst time ever receiving the site to look how an client wants it to appear. He wants that to be very similar to http: //www. mmc. com, and though I’ve tried to operate really hard to acquire everything how he / she wants, I was becoming very, very unmotivated because I am not doing good and am nervous about further disappointing him. I am just not your designer. speeding up WP site

Hey Plainly cut and paste the source code from the page on this wordpress site in to dreamweaver and save as being a html page and also upload to my server the article works. If I did this with the pages on the site would this be operating as a static html site and load faster Or will it be still doing almost everything via the DB plus I’m just filling living with pointless physical exercises BTW there exists a members section in my site that is controlled by plugins. I imagine I’d keep this location and pages php. My main objective should be to stop losing pre sales on account of slow page loads… further info – I am using a shared server The server consumer service claim my own site loads slowly sometimes because it’s just a shared server and it’s actually a WP php site with lotsa plugins. Help! Slow loading site!

Greetings all, I’m currently owning a wordpress blog being hosted with fatcow. When I navigate towards the site there is apparently a pretty good hang prior to browser even starts to load this page. Most belonging to the wait is should the browser says " looking ahead to www. craigstrade. com… " Does this look like a DNS issue Anyway, as you can easily see above, the LINK is www. craigstrade. com Any help diagnosing this problem would be tremendously appreciated! Thank you, Phil MY SPOUSE AND I suspect it’s a person’s host itself. With a shared account you’ll be sharing resources for the WP database and so forth. To me, the lag looks like it would be the time it’s taking for making the db calling. We’d monitor it above different times from the day and find out if it gets greater or worse. If it receives better at very low peak times (later during the night time etc) then you recognize its the weight on their hosts causing issue. REDESIGN: Client needed to help update his espresso! And all this while I kept thinking it had been my work!!! (He has since changed the look to remove that boxes from all pages women and men home page and the blog. ) Unique post: I’ve viewed this website from several various computers, browsers, ip handles, emptied all caches and I’m still certainly not replicating what my client is viewing. He’s in Town and I’m in america. For this page: he sees one simple " box" impression under the pen header, CV for GREAT BRITAIN (should be a complete of 6 photograph swaps).
