I love what the Washington Post does with its range of galleries plus what the BBC does with photos at the same time, but would choose to do something rather different. I’m certainly thinking of some type of separate viewing window, then storing the actual details of galleries and photos in a MySql database so We can add to galleries easily and easily (especially helpful for your writers’ galleries).
