Sitebuilder, CMS, OR Purchase a template?

My business is rather new in order to designing, but I learn how to program in HTML plus some Javascript… however, simply no nothing of expensive, and other complexities of the website. If i want to produce a page for the client (this particular one is a " area yokel", kinda simliar with a lawn mowing employment, but on a computer) Anyway, getting started I got wondering which is best. Utilizing " Sitebuilder SEVEN. 0" which is hosted on one of many hosting sites With a Content Mgt Technique, like Php Nuke as well as Post Nuke OR, just purchasing a webtemplate It is pretty nifty of which Site Studio SEVEN. 0 has some sort of " flash" cartoon already there. http: //www. hostgator. com/sitestudio. shtml But My business is wondering which alternatives are better. CMS My business is more famliar with though. Seems to me that in order them to update the website themselves, you’ll be chosing two of those. You’ll need a layout, so you can either make the item or purchase them. Then you require a CMS for you to encorporate into them. You can’t adequately have one with no other. If you just want any static … Continue reading

Muti-part message in MIME format

Great day WDF buddies, I became wondering what a " mutli-part principles in MIME format" is/means/ and also why I continue getting them. Foundation: It is now the second time We’ve had this take place. With my website, www. shanispace. com, I have a form about the contact page. I acquired the php script originating from a friend of my own. This morning, I received four emails as being a " form submission" by different " people. " But that’s the lowest amount of of the weirdness. The form has four areas, all of which are required. If they’re not filled out, form doesn’t send. Hence, not all analysts are filled out in all the messages We’ve received. The " Subject" can be a drop-down, so there is absolutely no option to type something in, and a few the messages have got customized " Themes. " The particular messages themselves are usually primarily jibberish, with what look like parts of some sort of story. Each has a bcc to aol handles. And are claiming being somethingorothershanispace. com, which have been emails that never exist. (Crazy what your website adminstrator knows! ) My business is simply confused, so any insight can … Continue reading

Can basic HTML and CSS make a good site?/Coding: College or web resources?

I have solely designed a handfull connected with websites since I began self-teaching myself lots of years ago. The majority were being sites for friends (a number of band websites including a personal site). These were mainly redesigns involving what was by now there (the typical Geocities, red-text-on-yellow-background, super-hero GIF, Times Brand new Roman type websites). The newest of them appeared to be a redesign of any local home engineering company (see cases here: http: //i17. photobucket. com/albums/b70/a_wilson/lastdesign. jpg). The redesign of the website helped out the company significantly and by what I listen to, they quickly became one of many top 10 corporations for home construction inside the entire state. Your website was all basic HTML, some CSS, a rotating expensive banner (I don’t maintain flash, but thought it made a fantastic addition) displaying a number of samples of its works, a phone form and meta tags. To tell the truth I had trend up information on how to do this contact form (perl) and the meta tags. I really could not do the following again unless I looked it ” up “. Right now I’m about to be majoring around photographic technology, and also it’s been awhile since … Continue reading

mass-producing image galleries with navigation

Hi there! I’ve got a bit problem here and I’m hoping to make use of the computer’s mind to take many of the work out of it to me. I’m building a site that will include things like over 100 image galleries. Each gallery is made up of 10 pictures. Each picture will be same size throughout pixels. I’ve sorted out some software that auto-generates html for an image gallery, but they don’t have any any navigation and appear generic. Is there some way I’ll rapidly churn out and about 100 galleries employing dreamweaver templates Or maybe there exists a better program to generate galleries from images. Almost any advice is liked. Write now I’ve a little above 3000+ images what is going on about 20, I’m sure, galleries. The easiest strategy to do it There’s no doubt that is to store all of it in a database then create the article. Drop me a line by going to some help. For instance lesleint said… start using a database like MySQL. Likewise, find out if your webhost allows ImageMagick. Along with ImageMagick, you just have to have to upload the particular full-size images. I’M then automatically generates " real thumbs" … Continue reading

trying to develop an intranet knowledge base

Innovative to WDF yet in desperate need of help… We’ve been developing Website for a couple years now, not formally prepared but I satisfy my needs. I have been recently tasked with creating a intranet knowledge bottom. I know we can list problems and check out the answer but I would really like something a bit more polished than of which. I would like kid search via issue type and pull up a summary of possible resolutions towards problem. To have that kind of functionality I think I will have to have a list backend. The tools We’ve are Dreamweaver EIGHT and an your windows program server 2003. Thanks a ton in advance to your assistance, and since I have identified this boards I will definitely be back! I’d probably do a search for a pre-done KB, while it could take ages to hand value one. Thanks Let me keep looking… anyone have one some people recommend.

Trying To Understand Subdomains

Hello there, I hope someone provide me some tips. Concerning an existing website that I am looking at expanding so My business is looking at subdomains. My existing web site has been optimized for any specific search term and My organization is happy with the actual ranking that Google etc. has placed me at. This questions: If my original web site already exists seeing that (mywebsite. com), what should i go about changing to accomodate a fresh subdomain ie: Does my original web site now become (originalsearchterm. mywebsite. com) after which you can the new enlargement (newsearchterm. mywebsite. com) Does every last page of the original web site need to reflect the fresh subdomain change I am aware of that subdomains should be designed to always be self contained websites so that the particular spiders won’t penalize my rankings. Would creating these subdomains drop my existing internet site into Google’s sandbox for a time or would it be left alone Also how would this specific change affect every link partners I may have Regards for your assistance.: nervous: What I’d do is within your footer just connect to your new subdomain, NEVER CHANGE YOUR EXISTING MAIN PAGE, that is critical … Continue reading

Duel layouts

We’ve started a job on my website to which, depending on any time on the users’ period on their laptop will load up one of two layouts. I will put a link at each layout to allow for the user for you to switch between that skins. I am regarding designing graphically right now, instead of subject matter. I will be adding content while my site grows. The very first layout is these: http: //www. remidica. net/x/ The other layout is these: http: //www. remidica. net/x/x/ Really, I’ve already got the joke about the double x’s and having to make a third layout for your final X. My question is that I don’t want to have the second layout being excatly like the very first layout. The navigation at the end is what is actually driving me insane. Does anyone have got any ideas on how I could truthfully lay out the navigation on the second layout Every comments, good and also bad, for this is certainly welcome! The more I am aware the better. And – as much as I know, both sites really should be viewed in all broswers (unknown regarding Opera), and all os’s (unknown for Linux).

Know what I want, not how

I am aware exactly how I would like the page being setup, but I’ve got some learning to accomplish. If anyone can certainly tell me what I’m looking to do (in technical terms) then hopefully I will take it following that. What I would really prefer to do is possess a page with a highly regarded and bottom bar/table/whatever which are always there which stay on the very best and bottom no matter if the page resizes. Also, inside the major body there would be a menu on the left that could stay aligned on the top bar because the browser expands downwards. I’d like it to end up being lightweight and tight so that there are not any visible boarders, simply blocks of coloration. It seems such as CSS is easily ideal, but in that reading I’ve obeyed far I have not found anything that simply tells me how to accomplish this so I’m undecided if I’m headed inside wrong direction. The image below will need to help illustrate my goal. Thanks for virtually every advice, code, or resources it is possible to provide! http: //img2. imagepile. net/images/77112708. png simple enough to do all you’d do is make something … Continue reading
