I need help on brussels. I am in the act of writing a forum script, but one problem My business is facing constantlly is easy methods to display so a lot information without cluttering in place the interface.
For instance, take a typical post on WDF (or almost every other typical forum). This contains the the actual poster’s alias, avatar, lots of solutions (edit, view account, etc), and even more. Now multiply that per post in this thread, and you get lots of info to screen…
But WDF’s design is just not messy. Some forums are messy though. So I have two questions:
What elements does one like/dislike seeing in forums What the heck is your favourite design for these factors
To present you something I considered: do you just like the poster’s alias above the post so they can its left (like about WDF)
Almost every other comments, like smiley help, HTML support, and so on are welcome!

I believe, I wouldn’t develop the forums centered inside window or develop the users information who’s posting the reply or starting your thread above that text, I’d have this forums left aligned as well as auto stretch that table so you do not have the wasted area on both sides of the furums. Then, I’d havet the actual personal info into the left of the post.
Simply my personal belief (2cents)!
My business is more used into the forum layouts that contain the user details (avatar, alias, area, # of posts) for the left and message body within the right.
I do for instance sites that support smiley support, photograph tags, vbCode for vbulletin sites and also html. I might not use every one of the features in every post but it surely is nice to know likely there if essential.

I know exactly what you are talking about! I’m keen WDF because it is narrow, but I also see why people love having 100% wider. There is will be 2 major difficulty with making the forum narrow:
A SINGLE. Long posts have a tendency to occupy massive portions of space should the design is narrow. When someone posts a script, or someone explains anything in excruciating depth, then the blogposts will look a long time.
3. URLs can be lengthy. Not only that, but code lines might get long too. We are now all seen these kind of massive one liners where everything happens! Thus we need the best text-wrapping algorithm.
