Making my first website?

Without doubt everyone, im considering designing a web page, I have Adobe Website Premiere which incorporates Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash etc, all this tools needed, im just unclear which one to utilize first any support = appreciated. You’ll create your graphics with similar to PhotoShop. You’ll create the exact website (XHTML/CSS etc) along with Dreamweaver. Come up with a plan… 1) What will the positioning be about articles content content. 2) What will it look like graphics, colors, dimension, positioning. 3) How are you drinking created Using XHTML, CSS no tables. 4) See 1. That’s the most significant. That is an obviously better explaination than what I’d typed out, but I’d like to suggest which you NEVER use your " Save for Web" feature throughout Photoshop, or the particular " Design View" simply in Dreamweaver. Articles is king! (You will see that said plenty around here. ) The reason why It creates crap code. WYSIWYG equipment are garbage with producing semantic code, meaning code this describes your content’s structure as an alternative to its appearance. I’ve used Dreamweaver cardio, and in new months, I have never–not once–used the theory view. I may establish much more ready and flexible computer code than … Continue reading

Hello, The layout i’m implementing is located from http: //www. eliswebdesign. com/reeb. I’m having difficulties with the shaddow surrounding the content area. It’s now fine within IE and Firefox, but opera not so well. I messed a bunch in an attempt to get it to check good in IE as it is so popular and had for you to sacrafice the looks in Opera. The index page may be the only page i’m concerned with right now. There was your slight problem when using the centering in IE previous to i added another div which has a z-index of -1 which doesn’t show up in firefox but IE means that you can set left and right to auto but Opera won’t. Can someone remember to help me learn how to have the shadow work. Oh Yah and i’m sorry my style linen is http: //www. eliswebdesign. com/reeb/style. css. -thanks It’s actually off by one pixel in IE6 in the process.. was this the same problem in Opera Really, I think i’m just likely to start using dreamweaver. I think i’ll remedy a repair so there is a one pixel clip with IE but that’s only when the content doesn’t fit … Continue reading

Designing for Art Display – Help Appreciated

Howdy. I would recognize the value of some advice regarding website design for art exhibit. My sister is often a budding artist who wishes to own a home starting to showcase your ex artwork. How does one attempt designing such something I’m a beginner, myself, and I don’t know where to start. What shall be most effective I want it to glimpse nice, but I know I would like to keep the item simple. Black and white overlays considering the background perhaps staying some variation of an 50% gray, to be able not to detract in the artwork when the item displays. Then, perhaps several designs in the borders and dividers and such. I thought in relation to introducing a slight little bit of color by using a prism-like range but I’m not sure how to use this. The art form displayed shall be in sequential variety (i. e. comics, manga) with multiple pages related to each story, so I understand that navigation can be key. This is perhaps a little more complicated that an effective portfolio, as much organization is required for the individual stories and the preceding chapters in addition to pages. But what is a great size … Continue reading

Is there a way to make this design into a fluid layout?

http: //twitpic. com/mgf5m There’s an online design I’m implementing, it’s just this bare bones currently. At the instant, the width belonging to the content area is over 1000px (I know it’s actually a bit too big) and rather than scale it down too much, I’d prefer to produce a fluid system (e. g. thickness: 80%; ), but I’m simply just wondering if there’s any way of doing that Currently, it’s a horizontal image that is certainly repeated vertically, having a seperate image for the top and bottom from the white section. Bless you. Oh, and hi. Now i am new here You have to have a fluid column on your own design. For example your content you intend to be fluid. You have to add from css to get background 3 photos: left and suitable fixed, and the fluid image. You have to set for div subject material width in percent and then for right column (for example) resolve width – around pixels. Thats some sort of basic explanation. You have to work if you prefer a fluid layout – isnt exist a softare which transform automatically a permanent layout to h2o. It’s much less difficult to deal w/ the … Continue reading

Design puzzle: how can I make this look good?

Hi there All, La and orange county Alex and I’m new to the forum. I am brand new to professional web page design and am doing my first serious project redesigning an internet site for your small business. I have meet up with a design issue and need many advice, if you are likely to lend me some time. I’m drawing the graphical structure in Photoshop of your redesigned version of this web site: http: //www. icc-usa. com. The present progress of this redesign (though the main content area is quite incomplete) looks this way: http: //www. icc-usa. com/GraphicalTemplate-Final_copy. jpg. My problem is that this: I like the top end header that Relating to designed thus far and also main (purple) navigation menu, but I tough to make the principle content (white background) harmonize when using the other parts on the design. My idea was for making the main subject matter design look basic and clean, similar to the apple. com visual. The three panels in the main content area should showcase three kinds of products and act as in other words easy-to-use navigation list for customers. I realize that I am mixing styles when using the minimalistic look from … Continue reading

Using Templates

Hi guys, Dilemma. I recently started using web themes and am somewhat confused. If I choose to use a template, is the template first thing I make For instance, I made the homepage and referred to as it index. html document. I then preserved that index. html as being a template. Should I not have saved it being an index. html and simply just saved it as being a template to start with Cause the challenge I’m running into now is must i update my index. html file or must i update my template Of course , if I do up-date my template, can that update this index. html track or doesn’t the item, since the index. html wasn’t made with the template Im so confused. If someone could shed some light on this subject template thingy with luck that would end up being great. Thanks.: -/ Vyriance I’m guessing you’re discussing Dreamweaver Avoid. Sorry. I needs to have mentioned that. Definitely discussing Dreamweaver. Any suggestions Vyriance There may be one thing just before I answer your question. un-written rule? Images under a vertical menu?

Hi everyone. Now i’m a wannabee web-designer. I improve a template structured design company. I have no training in addition to what i include picked up over time. I have a question associated with " The RIGHT strategy to design a website" Here at work we all get many opinions within the do’s and you should not s. I sooo want to get some professional advice merely may. Picture if you could a simple template layout. a) Major, header with a logo. b) Quit side, a " VERTICAL" column together with navigation menu. c) Under the header so to the right on the menu we have the main Body textual content area. d) footer with the base of the website. Dilemma: Considering the above template layout planned, we often end up with around 5 hyperlinks to 5 pages while in the navigation column. Often this creates lots of empty space while in the navigation menu area. If there’s a lot of content in one’s body area of the site it may be necessary to scroll lower, increasing the empty area under the actual navigation. Lots of designers here plan to add images having 1 px boarders towards navigation area to … Continue reading
