PhpBB forum question
MY PARTNER AND I dont suppose any of you guys have learned to include your sites design about the phpbb forum, as with your sites side margins and banner considering the menus included surrounding the sides of your forum. Relating to seen people repeat this quite often without having to really though about performing it myself untill currently. Many thanks, Daniel I’m less than sure whether I’m sure you right, but this may be something for yourself: http: //www. phpbb. com/kb/article. phparticle_id=18 IIRC, the HTML is recorded in. tpl files from the templates –> subsilver folder. You will need to edit the following two files: < COMMUNITY FORUMS DIR> /templates/subSilver/simple_header. tpl < COMMUNITY FORUMS DIR> /templates/subSilver/simple_footer. tpl Intended for basic envelop kind modification. For further customization, you’ll really need to edit other records. The files it is advisable to edit are: /templates/subSilver/overall_header. tpl as well as /templates/subSilver/overall_footer. tpl Similar to I did just for this forum – world wide web. lobsterweb. com/index. php and for this forum considering the sidebar included internet. lobsterweb. com/forum/ Of the best ways would be that will put the whole site into a table cell within a new table that you will create. transition image to text
I’m piecing together a liquid web template considering the following format: major banner, bottom footer and also central area. The particular central area is actually then divided with 3 columns: menu(width 160px), content(width 100%), submenu(width 130px). The content area needs to have an image (a photographic montage) of which transitions (faints or blurs) into the text, and that per section. The content area has a div class to renovate the height in addition to add a straight scroll bar. Hence my questions tend to be: A SINGLE. how can we lay out the image to ensure that the page looks good on equally 800×600 and 1024×768 and also latest browsers (not exclusively IE). 3. i could employ Flash (with your detect script) nonetheless wouldn’t this resolve the minimum thicker (photographic image will not likely resize well) Gives thanks 1. you are able to design it for 800×600 and center it for the page, or you will get it dynamically resize considering the page using percentages in your tables. or, you are able to design for both and now have the user choose the type. 3. well i ‘m pretty sure that you could just set a person’s flash movie ranges … Continue reading →

Image Slice/CSS question
Hi there, this is a new noob question. I’m curious to find out, if I create my web base, slice it up, and slap the idea into CSS, will I be able to make certain pages longer based on content Or will i be stuck along with my image width The image is 760 a 600 pixels. Do I need to make it longer in comparison with 600 Just requiring before I create the footer. I might appreciate any tips. Thanks a lot, Ceara Hi there! No issue. No questions tend to be too easy. You must slice the photograph up, so who’s consists of minimum amount 5 images. You footer, header then one left edge, one content and something right border. The content part may perhaps be only one coloring, so you have to focus on the borders. They need to be ablse to stretch vertically devoid of distortion. Then all you’ve got to write can be background-repeat: repeat-y; and yes it continues until the particular box ends. In your content section it is possible to likely take the 5 or hence pixel high slice of the whole width… By doing this the filesize is actually smaller.. and repeat-y … Continue reading →

Need advise.
Howdy, am a first-time. am trying to style a website together with DW. the website should have the logo for the top of that page, the menus to the left handside and some graphics on the right handside. I’d want to keep the logo the only real still area from the site (therefore no realoading needs to be involved when working the menus) and the other two areas should load various menus and artwork. Is this any case of framesheets Might you please help me to get a relevant article any suggestion could be very appreciated. Thanks earlier. Davide When would you like to load all the menus and graphics Feel free to use frames for including other html files as part of your page, although a lot of people hate frames. Or you should use a server aspect solution, like asp/php/cfm/jsp. Remorseful I dont truly understand your search If the photograph is loaded once it are not reloaded again in the following pages the way it will already be within the browser’s cache. So there really is you should not try and do what you’re up to (if I determine what that is) if you don’t are working that … Continue reading →

Using links instead of includes?
Hello there, I’ve been doing web design for a small amount now but possess never really experienced any training or anything inside, so here’s precisely what I’m wondering. If you’re looking for the super-quick version you can skip to the past paragraph. Concerning a site that has many domains, but every one of them is slightly different so it isn’t a referral type thing. Think of it like a car website needed instance, coolcars. com. Following that, I would likewise own the domain names for coolfordcars. com, coolchevycars. com, and many others. Each of these pages could well be slightly different (geared when it comes to that specific car), so it’s not a matter of these all referring for the same place. Thus, now I have 100 or so domains like this. Each of them uses the identical template for diverse content. But things like the footer, the top end image bar, and many others. are all the same. Thus, the index. php file for every domain has your call to Code: include " footer. html" Now, I merely found the downside to this. I had to change the footer, so I had research into my file transfer protocol program, … Continue reading →
