what are some tips for integrating an already completed website
which has a CMS My client prefers me to change coursesmart into a CMS and I’m taking a look at Drupal, Mambo, Joomla, and various CMS (including your free open source ones). My knowledge of PHP is kind of limited, but seems like that these prime CMS suites can make it easier. Is there much exact learning curve, though Thanks. So that they can pratice the CMS I’m planning to use my own ftp server besides the clients, so there won’t be any disruption on theirs. A few of these CMS systems is often rather complicated. I think the option rests on what the website owner requires the procedure for (and the actual intended scale). Should they need all the features of an all-singing all-dancing CMS then sure go for one like Joomla, but if all needed is to edit the text of several pages occassionally using a web-based interface, then a incredibly easier solutions such as the free CMS Editpoint might help things. Wordpress is often a blogging cms, but its really easy to edit and use you can make a website from it. Just a expertise in css and slightly php is all you need. http: //www. squidoo. … Continue reading

Best resources for content entry
I wanted to require a poll and ask what everyone’s favorite resources they need for shortcuts together with webdesign. My biggest question is Needed to have resources so other, not web savy individuals could input content for websites that I’ve made. I just don’t plan to be bugged every 10 minutes to include something. Resources that I’m looking for is a good calendar, and just main content input. Also some other great shortcuts could well be welcome. I’m okay at HTML and flash, however use dreamweaver a lot just to create things quicker. However always interested in the next significant shortcut. SOME SORT OF lame answer, however, Google. I use Google constantly to quickly find things I would like. Instance, it’s hard to have people to key in a date accurately, so I would need a " date-picker"… http: //www. google. com/searchhl=en& q=javascript day picker& btnG=Google Search Or even, I don’t keep in mind how PHP displays the afternoon of year variety: http: //www. google. com/searchhl=en& safe=off& q=php date& btnG=Search For just about any PHP snippets as well as " I aren’t able to remember how"…. I use Google. Here i will discuss one I applied today: http: //www. google. … Continue reading

Content Management Solutions (CMS)
Can this really work Can there be really a thing that will do everything you desire in one program Would it be worth it All depends. It depends on what you need to do. If all you have to to make is really a stupid blog, then what you need is yes, basically any CMS will conduct that. This one would be way ott for it while. If you wanted more leading-edge features, then who truly knows until they will try it It may work, but search for not. It might help a little customization (which you almost certainly can’t do high of in that one), or you could just have to create your own CMS. Whether it’s worthwhile or not highly depends on the site in question. There’s no absolute end-all, be-all CMS. Many people made a quite convincing video. But I’d personally definitely say in which PHP would create better forums plus blogs and allow for easier customization. It’s actually the best tool I consider, based on the ads… But my business is not really familiar with CMS so never have tried yet. Need to study more on that then attempt soon. It’s that’s doubtful bad by virtually … Continue reading
Intuitive Dynamic Website Setup
Hello, I have many questions to ask and I only want to get them all out in one place. I am looking to develop a dynamic website and still have the generalities along but need direction on my specialised setup before I get too far along and need to backtrack. What is recommended to be being safer – ASP or PHP I started off building with PHP as well as registered variables but apparently that may be not as safe the way it once was. It looks like scripts can possibly be modified though to still use the function but I don’t know. Which is the right way to go For Javascript, exactly what library is advised I see your " Big Several, " but I’m wondering can you have more than one. Also does anyone develop Echo Library How easy can it be to use these kind of and customize pictures, etc to your own webpage Can you have more than one Javascript library Has anyone found it easier to construct their own Does anyone propose a CMS with a built-in cart function which includes a gift certificate power. Are pre-made CMS systems even devised for more dynamic data … Continue reading

White Label CMS
Heya, I’m looking for a Content Management System i always can rebrand plus sell as by myself. Does anyone know on the good white label CMS out there Preferably a non-hosted 1. Thanks in advance! I would say http: //www. flyspeck. net/ Ive been using it for quite a while now. Very easy to use and you may re-brand. Besy associated with luck Thanks for your reply Alart! I will check out flyspeck. Fascinating CMS that… definitely not seen it ahead of… I like the truth that it edits ripped files, rather compared to requiring a databases. I actually write my own ring CMS systems (have done two distinctive ones for two web site designers I work with)… what I tend to find is always that the ones that you get " off that shelf" (like Joomla! or anything else. ) are simply too damn complicated for many end users… they want to gain something specific normally and if you write your own you can provide them with that. I think I have to have done 50-60 sites to see and every single one wants anything new or numerous… hence it’s vital that you know the code and how to … Continue reading

Looking to get into Web Design, Advice Please.
Hello All, Earliest post so often be gentle, and hello for your requirements all My organization is currently thinking about engaging in Web Design and was wondering just what exactly the best technologies to study is. Let me primarily be looking to create web sites for myself, the more interactive the higher quality with a perspective to them staying techie and futuristic with a lot of interactivity involved, items like forums, real time frame support, the ability if anyone else is to buy stuff on the website, mp3/video downloads plus real time streaming and probably any blog also. What i need to learn is what path we need to take, we’ve spoken to a couple of people and many are the suggestions i’ve had so significantly. Either are reduced the Adobe way with CS3/4 plus ASP. NET and C#/VBasic (i think or will it be VBNET). or even To consider the MS Expression and Silverlight Now as much as i am mindful Silverlight is MS competitor for Adobe flash and Expression is definitely their verison connected with Dreamweaver. BTW i should also have mentioned we dont know any HTML etc so i am going to be doing a training course … Continue reading

Full Sail’s Web Design Degree (Online) help!
Unsure if it is a right place due to this thread but here it can be. I recently separated from the military and have been on " hiatus" for a little just one year and I’m ready to improve with my living. I am thinking of getting a web pattern degree through Complete Sail’s online course. If you provide me any good advice please do especially if you have done something with these. I know that Full Sail will get talked down plenty mainly due to the price tags within the degrees… but if money wasn’t a difficulty how does the program rate with others that you can get online (Art Institute, etc). Have you been planning on focusing with web design, or web development Website design is more about how precisely the site seems, graphics, photoshop, styles, CSS, etc. Web Development is all about the back-end development and how them works… PHP/MySQL, XHTML, XML, Javascripting and also CMS Systems Web sites are about both of those, but not very most people are proficient in both. In your explanation, I’m guessing you would like to be more straight into graphic design. Just understand that web sites will be about both … Continue reading

Edit Dreamweaver editable region from browser (CMS?)
Need some approach to edit Dreamweaver editable region (template) from in just browser like CMS’s complete, but i dont need to build my site using CMS i want to define certain areas which might be editable. Perhaps there is FREE solution so that this Do you know anything about PHP And do you make your web sites. php (instead involving. html) There are several simple PHP alter methods… some with a small amount of security or capabilities, but very essential and easy. Color require a WYSIWYG manager or very fundamental (text only) Is this to get clients to edit content If you do not want a cms site or deal with php (although Max can probably teach you an easy solution) then you can look at Cushy CMS. I use it for 2 sites and it works great to get simple text plus image swaps for your client. Cushy is usually a nice editor. The simpler the better. Konductor, Konductor, Konductor – requires default. dwt and makes them a CMS template – the person interface is unbeatable. It’s like Add – but THOUSANDS OF times better. hope that helps! Meh, Cushy is old school. Offer Surreal CMS some sort of … Continue reading
