I’ve two questions. Initial, I have the floated column towards right of the text that secures images, that if clicked, pop up a larger version. I’ve noticed that a lot of sites say ‘click photo for larger version’ and also something similair beneath each picture. Do I should do this Will the user automaticly hover over it to discover if this is a link Secondly, it seems like many sites chop ” up ” articles into many pages, and when you find yourself reading you press ‘next’ or ‘continue’ to take you to the subsequent page. Is this imagined to break down the article into unique comprehensive thoughts such as lists do A few pointer break my articles up into smaller pages Thanks alot in your help: classic: Kefka, I think to answer your questions, you should consider your audience. People who utilize the internet regularly is not required to be told to click for your larger image, many of us do it and pretty much look for them. i’m only starting with site style, and would like to discover how to make my images scale up or down automatically having different screen sizing’s. i have designed your website with frames at first because need to have an area centered around the page that can certainly scroll several pages of info….. but my business is learning how this really is possible using kitchen tables and divs. dilemma is, i created the 800×600 graphic which i sliced up in fireworks to set-up the page. i need everything to seem within that page, without scrolling down forever—and to keep the navbar generally accessible. when i look at my site using almost every other screen size, when i either get incomplete images, or unappealing gaps between all of them. my business is using dreamweaver to develop the site. and am trying to test it about angelfire (but it does not load right! ) please look it over if that helps you to answer my concern. www. angelfire. com/az3/solverstechline thanks in advance!! Resolution of the text

Hi again, Folks! The following is another (probably dumb) just one: is there any route to make the font size affect all resolutions Or do you absolutely have to write in the beginning of your site, " optimized with the resolution" Thanx chuz Designate it in pixels Specifying it in em’s is more preferable. The em measure will depend on the text size on the current resolution, and it is defined as the width of the capital M (this is definitely from ye olde a short time of typography). Great line widths usually are approximately 30em wide. thanks… Is it possible to specify that in Dreamweaver Can you tell me how chuz. Code: … < head> < type type=" text/css" media=" screen" > p font: typical 0. 8em/130% tahoma, verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; < /style> < /head>… This uses the format of: weight, size, foremost, typeface(s). Code: < p> Lorem ipsum dolor take a seat amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. < /p> Try in the Dreamweaver’s code view for a bit. thanx!!! chuz. Trico, if they the leading complete 130% The 130% identifies the line height, and it is defined as the distance concerning the base in the line to the … Continue reading

Want to learn.

I would like to learn how to help to make websites, Design is just not too bad. I know simple concepts (most advisors are common perception anyway). Basically my own problem is together with coding. So just how do i learn My idea so far is to discover HTML more in-depth after which learn CSS. Once I know those two then i can get to know programs like dreamweaver greater. Are they almost every other languages i must know Am i going relating to this the wrong manner No, that is certainly good. I’d declare: First learn HTML DOCUMENT. Then unlearn some by learning XHTML. In that case learn CSS. In that case make your very first homepage. Use the HTML DOCUMENT you’ve learnt and the CSS you’ve learnt. Then learn CSS format. With layout goes graphic editing. Learn photoshop/fireworks or something similar to that. By time I’m quite sure you realize what to discover yourself (I’d point out server-script, and in that case javascript, and then flash after which… ) Make sure you learn HTML and CSS beyond doubt. You’ll then learn that after all of this, your web pages are going to be " static" web sites. In … Continue reading

what should I label this as in my navigation?

What is a best term to collectivly define: information columns, movie opinions, tutorials on many things, and all that sort of text-y stuff I took a new screenshot of our navigation and attached it to the post. After clicking on a link, it would create for you to a page with a header, a short description in the category, and then an index of subcategories bulleted (similair into the screenshot). I are convinced the navigation is incredibly clear except pertaining to ‘articles’. If someone was visiting coursesmart taking time at it I do think they would be able to find what they where trying to find very easily, but I’m focused on the visitor that is looking for one thing very specific but will leave if it doesn’t appear to be there right out. gives thanks Writing or Work would be the only ones I’ll think of. err, those might operate. I dreamed about calling it " The particular Vault" but I didn’t would like to since that is what many sites do every time they have alot of different types of content to brand. " Library" may well work, but which infers something diverse than I offer you. When … Continue reading

Are tables obsolete for page design? (Replaced by span and div?) Your opinion please.

Hello there, just call my home Rip Van Winkle. Concerning not paid a lot attention to world wide web coding for over the year, and currently I find assertions in forums that " tables are generally obsolete. " They say it truly is all done these days with " span" along with " div" implementing CSS. This concerns: JUST ONE. I don’t know how " span" along with " div" work. Should I discover this And why TWO. I like the way that I can make tables adjust in order to any size screen along with the user can adapt the font sizes instantly with all the view–> text dimensions in his visitor, the way which i am used that will coding it. I will be leery of " most critical positioning" and " mapping. " I do not really see how this really is sure to adjust to different types and size connected with browser and display screen. And I uncover many websites (including this one) never adjust well to by myself " average size" 15" monitor. 3. Does anybody however prefer " tables" though they know CSS extensively Your opinions, remember to. Thank you. –Krystof. Divs may be … Continue reading

MissE Its a much time process but so long as you are trying your best to conform to countless standards there’s no-one to ask more associated with you than of which. Best advice I’ll say is mooch via this: http: //www. w3. org/WAI/intro/wcag. php and read what you can when you could. Unless you have got a real social problem you’ll never have the capacity to read 100% connected with it so just make an attempt to keep them as their intended purpose when you read them. When you visit coding use your validators for all of your languages to make certain they conform towards the standards and if they can’t visit the guidelines and discover why. That means you’ll learn the practical route. So its an activity of: Code a little, validate. Code a little more, validate. etc .. When you are learning the convenience guidelines remember they may be there to aid us. They help us establish a standard and help those that … Continue reading
