Web Safe Colors
What are the dangers of employing colors for web site design that arent ‘Web Safe’ Does it have to do with browsers I am talking about, do only old browsers must have colors that usually are ‘web safe’. Am I spending my time getting web safe colors to fit my site when it only benefits an extremely small percentage regarding people Furthermore, if I try a cholor scheme thats possibly not ‘web safe’ so how exactly does it appear with browsers that dont see made from correctly There’s no doubt that the ‘web-safe’ shapes and colours idea was created when some monitors only had that capability to show 256 colours. Given that most screens resolution can cope with 24-bit or more significant, I for one don’t follow the websafe principles. there are 216 web-safe colorations.. they were named that way because at lowest those common colors could be represented somewhat accuratly no matter what browser, monitor, THE GW990, etc.. your users viewing your website page are using. The one effect that would happen is all colors that are not websafe would display as a different color, generally the closest website safe color. People rules dont really apply much anymore.. i … Continue reading

Can FTP overwrite erase online file without overwriting? & cheap FTP + HTML editors?
Howdy all. I am testing out the free " BatchFTP" buyer, fairly new yet with high comparisons at Download. com. This is made for doing entire " batches" –i. e., you can application it to add various files throughout various directories, all at one click. Works nicely, BUT I am leery because it says similar to: GUARDEDNESS! If you fit " always overwrite, " this can result in losing the good old file without swapping it with nearly anything, because BatchFTP erases the actual old file first, then attempts to upload the brand new. Any problem with the upload, you don’t have any file online… … And if you don’t put " always overwrite" —it skips completely that file distribute! So this totally defeats the purpose of a " batch FTP" client, not think Can certainly someone please inform me: –Is it a standard hazard with virtually any FTP overwrite… you can end up without the need of online file Do each of them " erase the actual destination file first" Or is this specific just because that is the " batch" FTP –I really do not need a " batch" FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL. What I would like is an … Continue reading

-newbe-how to make resolution independent pages ?
a)I include these templates using the frames, PSD files and many of the little images… women and men problem is i always cant get this to display appropriately all Monitor file sizes.. it only works right for starterst resolution… b) The right way of manipulating a template to make your own site is to mess around considering the layers in this PSD file after which cut out pieces from the final product to suit in the frames of the template Here’s I right a) utilize tables and established their size to 100% from the page width, so that they will resize subject to the resolution. Or create two versions on the page, one optimised for 800×600 and something for 1024×768. Subsequently use: < script language=" javascript" > <! — whenever ((screen. width> =1024) & & (screen. height> =768)) windowpane. location=" highres. htm"; else windowpane. location=" lowres. htm"; //–> < /script> to load the right page. Or you possibly can make a site which is 780 pixels huge, so it can fit any screen resolution from 800×600 and up. There will be unused real residence on larger file sizes, but people with large resolutions arrived at expect this IMO.

How to fix this challenge Pls help my home! 1) Don’t use frames. 2) As an alternative to setting in pixels to the dimensions, set the idea in percent(i. electronic. not 800 pixels, but similar to 60%). 3) Don’t use frames. 4) Design it in order that even at 800×600, the frames don’t run over screen. See http: //www. airfleettraining. com This is my first at any time commercial site, back while i too used frontpage. I thought structures were the neatest thing – yet i designed it in order that even at 800×600 there will be no scrolling. Easily were to re-do the item again, guess precisely what I wouldn’t employ frames!! shiny Design the idea using either 100% wider, or no greater than 780 pixels. Hello there… I’m a ‘new’ man or women doing some small level web work for my company. We now have an intranet site which I’ve been asked to provide a link to a good internal application. Nevertheless, I’d like the connect to NOT open upwards a question box ‘do you should run, or save the. exe file’. Everyone in the business knows what the particular file is and may want to. I’d actually plan to prevent the unlimited calls to each of our Tech support folks asking the direction to go in this situation. What I have presently is… Code: < your href=" file: //S: \power\workload. exe" > Testing< /a> Any assistance could well be wonderful…. If its not possible that is as well fine, I’d just like to figure this out… I (but I’m not sure as I will not really know about this kind of stuff), that you’d ought to link to the particular file, let these download, then apply it. I can’t see any other way… Without a doubt, I don’t believe it’s build to work that way directly, as otherwise virus writers would have a fit of fun by using it. I’ve seen plenty of sites like this kind of, they seem to your workplace almost like forums. I’ve even utilised one, but I’d like to know how I could make one enjoy it. A very good example of what I’m referring to is a guild-portal site (like brussels. ) Or internet. ctrlaltdel-online. com At any rate, can someone provide me a palm For this you will need a content administration system (CMS) It might be hard inless there is a lot of experience for making one yourself, however benefits free CMSs available which would enable you to customize design wise and will help you to update and run your website online, quickly and easily. An example of this is something like SmartSite CMS, that was written by Mossoi, who is a member of the forums. Consider http: //smartsitecms. net and take a glance, or just look into a site just like Source forge and also something, there are hundreds around. Certain to be one that will fit your demands. Most are not hard to customize.
