I’m in need of some phpBB help. I need to make an entire forum completely private.

Hi there! Wow, it’s been long, long time since I have been on here. My forum happens to be running phpBB A FEW. 0. 4 using the subSilver2 theme as being the only theme being used. I recently resolved to make the full forum completely confidential. That is, I will not be allowing unapproved new members, and nothing should be visible unless someone is logged within. For the present time, I disabled registration and powered down all permissions with regard to guests, but that isn’t enough for what I would like. I basically want a page in which says the name on the site and provides a login link unless the consumer is already logged around. I don’t really want the " who has logged in" box or everything to be visible unless the consumer is logged with successfully. I do website development with PHP, so the means is no issue for me. I’m just not likely sure how to search about this. I’ve been using phpBB for the couple years now, but I’ve never really familiarized me with any on the code. Thanks in advance for any guide and suggestions! I appreciate them. A unique situation because you need … Continue reading

Here is that link: http: //andibair. com. istemp. com/benchFitness/html/index. html The site exhibits perfectly in Mozilla firefox although in IE this tables are messed ” up ” as you might be able to see. Anybody have any advice for us as to what we can do to create it work intended for both browsers. Any ideas for the coding Krystle Avoid using a table with regard to non-tabular data. Types of class is this where it really is ok to utilize a table But MY SPOUSE AND I don’t see virtually any difference between Firefox 3, IE6, and IE7. It is a web design school 1) Many of us don’t do homework or student assigments. 2) Avoid using < table>… make use of CSS and < div> pertaining to layouts. 3) In case your " web design class" teacher is having buy < table> vertisements for layouts, tell your teacher to show you about CSS in addition to non-table layouts.

Merely were in your current shoes, I would simply ensure it is XHTML/CSS validated, designed for FireFox and adjustments created for IE6 and preceding. I would not really care that she is a customer in this article. She should not use IE5, and in the event you go through the many hours to make that right, just with regard to her, who’s to express her computer isn’t going to die and she then gets a different computer at IE7 or IE8 There comes your point where a web designer/developer has to be in charge of particular things, and this is one of these people… even at this point of shedding … Continue reading

My business is seriously considering pursuing a career using Web designing, what will i do get for informed about it first however I basically have only worked with webs. com and want more. Thanks! I’m looking send to my time frame here! WHEN I usually put that into two elements. 1) Developer: Can the graphics skill stuff, layouts, the way it looks, colours, fonts, templates, and so on. Understanding of photoshop, flash, photograph editing, file forms, etc. Usually an incredibly creative artistic person which includes a good eye with regard to design. 2) Web Developer: Does the very coding: XHTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL… the back-end work to render the particular page correctly in all browsers, XHTML/CSS validation, and the PHP/MySQL scripting intended for dynamic pages in addition to misc. programming wants. Most people are good at some of those, but not a great deal the other. Where does one fit in Definitely within the 1st category. I suggest if you pursue the field of web site design, you come to the table with great skills as being a graphic designer. How big is to big for a back ground image?

I used to be just wondering exactly what everyone though about sizes for foundation images. What is a good size for them and what exactly is to big Relating to all ways heard that as long at they are usually under a meg then they work effectively but I realize that a meg can be to big. With regard to download size… under 40k if it is going to be an integral part of your design (e. gary the gadget guy. a frame or border on your site). But in the event that it’s just the ambient background image, I would visit as big since 200k. A megabites is ridiculous. Aim to have the most basic background image likely.. if its up and down repeated eg get 800×1, if its orizontail tumble 1×100 and also try to use transarency and also table colors in making them smaller ANY background image should not even be near 1Mb. The background picture should be no more than you can ensure it is. You can start using a gif format together with indexed colors that will control the size from the image. PNGs tend to do better when compared with GIFs for great BG … Continue reading

Also I need to to discuss, at what issue does learning material for some software or some sort of scripting language become obsolete as well as being there any research use for good old versions of manuals, books and lessons. With thanks Guys and Gals realy, CSS-3 is on its way with animations on the rescue. that coupled with php covers intractive design and style. and flash video is an overkill since mp4 can be used far more libaraly. i dont discover a nitch with regard to MS or adobe inside near future. all of these options prsented insert faster and develop linux (on the particular rise). oh and i could build mp4 from … Continue reading

CSS or Tables

Do you find it best to: Design a website so it is completely table-less OR…… Design a website where you work with tables for layout and CSS regarding presentation Continually #1 without exemption, although keep in your mind tables are the precise thing to use when representing tabular information. Use < div> rather than table and CSS with regard to presentation setting up Div for system and CSS with regard to presentation… Meh, you are doing know that they’re saying that tables should by no means be used (even intended for tabular data)… instead you’re designed to use < dt> < dd> tags.. I haven’t completely grasped/accepted that idea truthfully speaking but I do know from my a lot more recent research that tables = awful. Nonsense. In case you have data that is actually naturally represented implementing column headers and also rows, it’s any table by distinction. dl/dd/dt is just for lists of meanings. The entire point of semantic markup could be to use the label that describes the images, and a table is okay at describing a new table. Googling XHTML Validation and Tables…. I obtained enough links to choke a mule along with… But this guy seems … Continue reading
