Making multiple pages from template
I made a super easy page template that I’d like to use througout the site, but was wondering whenever a an easy strategy to copy the format to mulitple web pages, other than cutting open it, then protecting it as, by way of example, page1. html, page2. html page etc. I used to be using Coffecup HTML PAGE editor, if which helps. My page basicly is known for a menu along your left side, a title/graphic in the top, and in the biggest market of the page is a only thing that may change from page to page. Is this the simplest way to go about carrying out a layout like the following Hi Should you have a server-side lisenced users language (like PHP and also Perl), then it is rather easy. If not, then I think the only way is that will copy/paste or save-as. Remorseful. I’m undecided what you imply. Do you mean if I know how to program/write PHP/Perl pieces of software, or if I manage to use them where We have my hosting (the first, I have no idea the way to write scripts, cost-free I have) " That second" — How much does your host … Continue reading

Email server?
Not sure if this is actually the right place in order to post this, but I simply purchased a domain name with the particular intent of using it for email exclusively. I was questioning if anyone could possibly point me to a cheap, fast webhost that provides pop3 Thank you! : Chris What about something like: http: //www. netfirms. com They’re just about $5. 00 per 30 days. and also, http: //www. ipowerweb. com ($7. 00 per month) Those are pretty cheap with no banner ads. Should you be going to pay out $5/month, I recommed an individual 1and1 instead. If you’d like something more global financial: http: //uzipp. com/ 1and1 does not offer much with $5. 00/month. They offer the use of pre-installed CGI scripts, but not the CGI-BIN. No PHP, Zero MySQL, No SSI I’d never join that. uzipp. com looks very good though. Of course you’re right, MY SPOUSE AND I didn’t checked what exactly 1and1 gives to get 5 bucks, as well as it’s almost next to nothing. I signed up for his or her promotion of Three years free hosting that ended at the start of this yr, and it’s superb. 500MB HD living space, … Continue reading

Re-design using templates .. or SSI
I recently inherited a site that is developed using eyeglass frames. I’m going to lose frames.. so by using 400 html records, would it possibly be better to re-design your website using templates.. or server-side includes. I don’t see the templated information being changed too often. Explanations welcome.. I’m not too experienced with SSI’s Gives thanks! Jayell hmm i do not know Jayell, templates and SSI may not be mutually exclusive; typically templates would employ SSI. If you have that lots of pages I would certainly go for any SSI functionality… you’ll probably decide to look into using CSS div layers to position your own various elements for the page, in order to generate the page work from a similar way towards the existing frames features. As for the SSI itself feel free to use various technologies to complete it; php, or shtml or (if you are on Windows servers) asp. Either that or download one of many various template established Content Management solutions… phpnuke, postnuke, Xoops, Mambo and so on… they all enable template based design with user CPanel and so forth… really depends what are the site you are after… if you wish this sort with functionality installing … Continue reading
How would I have a picture on my site, with a random link each time you open the page
Greetings, I’ve made fundamental webpages before, and am wondering how We’d have a photo on my site that would have a random link all the time you open the actual page. the graphic wouldn’t change, just simply the link. Precisely how would i perhaps do this MANY THANKS VERY MUCH! We are not sure myself but My business is guess you would desire php for this. You may should make four copies in the same image or something like that to carry out it. I am not sure if it is realistic just to change the link, but I know it certainly is with different photos. I guess you may just may a few copies and implement a random image on the webpage with the different link per one Make feeling Maybe having Javascripting, but lots of people are now converting off their particular Javascripting, which would cause it to not work. The amount of links are you discussing, and would this be actual haphazard, or simply cycle through a listing… would you work with cookies to determine if someone has already had the website displayed on their own browser Learn if your hosting company offers SSI (Server Side Includes). … Continue reading

div instead of frame
Hello guys, I must have my left column regarding my site being updated all the time, so instead of getting to redo every single page of our site, I thought i would add a style, but I forgot how " bad" eyeglass frames are, so You want to add a new div, can somebody give me the code please Bless you. isnt it just a div align left " whatever pixels". I dont know, thats exactly why Im asking. Ive been doing a full time encoding job so website design knowledge continues to be pushed out regarding my head subsequently. I:: feel:: " align left" will affect the text inside the box NOT the exact positioning of this box, but Im just learning CSS intended for layouts. Instead you would want to position: left=0 pixels. < might be wrong> Additionally, the rest with the layout will most likely be affected by the area on the quit, so those houses will also must be affected. Quick: you could try a table and place a div with the left part into the cell (to steer clear of converting the rest of the layout). It are often helpful to see what it really … Continue reading

Trying to pass variable from the URL
I’ve a CGI script in which uses variables which must be passed from article to page. Merely run the CGI script, WE cannot use Node Side Includes. Currently, if I apply SSI, I cannot go a variable on the URL. I’d like to use the Apache mod_rewrite RewriteRule in order to pass a variable. The RewriteRule (a-z0-9+)/(a-z0-9+)$ $2. html E=MY_VAR: $1, L isn’t working. I’ve tried other activities, but this will be what the Apache documentation indicates is supposed to work. I’m with Apache 1. THREE OR MORE. 27 Can anyone help Please and several thanks! I remember about couple of years ago I had written a custom handler that would load pages, perform SSI in addition to allow special includes for instance results from CGI job applications and running exterior programs. Luckily I keep my old code, I used such as this: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule (. +). shtml pageprocessor. plpage=$1& template=shtml How are you currently trying to move your variables Is there much script Your current regexp accumulates two lowercase alphanumeric strings seprated by way of " /" and end that has a $, then attempts to help load the file that may be supplied by cost-free item with … Continue reading

PayPal Shopping Cart–how good or how bad? Advantages, problems, opinions please.
Hi there. Here is what I know about shopping carts: About 2 issue, I tried MivaMerchant. Which usually, at that time frame, was " the" inexpensive cart that is configured by a strong amateur to do just about anything. Or so all people said. I joined up with the newsgroup. After many weeks of work, it had been clear that it could take me many months to get this thing looking presentable. Plus–what would happen to all those " modifications" when there was an upgrade Plus–credit greeting card processing fees along with integration were one more hurdle. Plus–some doubts about security. Eventually, I just ran out of time and lost the battle. And so, later I ended up being glad to take note of that PayPal had developed unique " shopping cart. " Last few days, I finally gifted it a have a shot at. Merits: –No monthly fees for bank card processing, unless you wish advanced options. (Then $20/month. ) –Built-in restricted security. PayPal will not even give me the credit-based card numbers, so I’m not responsible. –100% on the spot and 100% accommodating with website style. Just pop the actual buttons into a person’s regular HTML site, and … Continue reading
