making links in dreamweaver

WHEN I used the " thumb button" feature to style my menu. The good news is place to feedback link url. This looks really fine, but it did not write in program code like < a new href=somepage> and certainly the button will go nowhere. Do you know where to set up the link url or tips on how to tell dreamweaver for you to input the website Heres the code < thing classid=" clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase=" http: //download. macromedia. com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash. cab#version=5, 0, 0, 0" width=" 105" height=" 21" align=" top" > < param name=" movie" value=" vidspics. swf" > < param name=" bgcolor" value=" #00FF99" > < param name=" QUALITY" value=" high" > < param name=" SCALE" value=" exactfit" > < embed src=" vidspics. swf" width=" 105" height=" 21" align=" top" quality=" high" pluginspage=" http: //www. macromedia. com/shockwave/download/index. cgiP1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type=" application/x-shockwave-flash" bgcolor=" #00FF99" scale=" exactfit" > < /embed> < /object> Considering the button selected, click edit within the property inspector. The good news is link field in the popup window. enter a distant relative path or browse with the file. I guess i assumed it might write the code whether or not it lead nowhere. I’ll create the page then … Continue reading

I’m in need of some phpBB help. I need to make an entire forum completely private.

Hi there! Wow, it’s been long, long time since I have been on here. My forum happens to be running phpBB A FEW. 0. 4 using the subSilver2 theme as being the only theme being used. I recently resolved to make the full forum completely confidential. That is, I will not be allowing unapproved new members, and nothing should be visible unless someone is logged within. For the present time, I disabled registration and powered down all permissions with regard to guests, but that isn’t enough for what I would like. I basically want a page in which says the name on the site and provides a login link unless the consumer is already logged around. I don’t really want the " who has logged in" box or everything to be visible unless the consumer is logged with successfully. I do website development with PHP, so the means is no issue for me. I’m just not likely sure how to search about this. I’ve been using phpBB for the couple years now, but I’ve never really familiarized me with any on the code. Thanks in advance for any guide and suggestions! I appreciate them. A unique situation because you need … Continue reading

What can I do to improve this template?

I have recently created an online site for a friends and family friend’s bed in addition to breakfast. I’d like some help improving the planning of the template if anyone is actually willing. Any comments/suggestions can be great. Here’s the url intended for my test copy in the site: http: //www. almosthome. nxserve. net/index. php Gives thanks! Andrew Arnott It’s a little flat, and (I’ll say it again) a new logo will really maximize a brand recognition that can people remember your webblog and hopefully returning. Test building the web template using standard-compliant markup and also css, this has benefits including ease regarding updating. Also, try using css text replacement with the navigation. That way you could use the a: hover state for roll-overs as opposed to javascript. I’d personally also increase the line-height for the copy text, and work with the h1 style because it is just a little bland. The most crucial part for an affiliate site like this may be to have a lot of large beautiful photos, because that’s what’s about to bring in this reservations. also, give thought to doing a video tutorial guided tour. individuals eat that stuff up. It’s a little bit bland, … Continue reading

Images versus site speed.

We have a question regarding images and site speed. What I am wondering about are these claims. Would it be better to stay my web site images of their " images" folder and chek out them from the root of my sector. Or, would it be better/faster only store them on a seperate hosting provider and chek out them there. Any input is prized. Many thanks, _____________________ web page design usa ecommerce website design Iowa More quickly to host these people yourself and employ Relative Path. Case in point, store all of one’s images in the directory called " images". Complete Path: < img src=" http: //www. mysite. com/images/mylogo. gif" /> Comparable Path: < img src=" images/mylogo. gif" /> Why would you think they would fill faster Unless ones running your server as part of your basement putting your images in the remote location is not advisable. You’d be adding another point connected with failure. If the remote computer repair server is offline you could have no images plus your website is crippled. Keep with the local /images folder on your server.

Why is my site such a mess??

My organization is relatively new to website development. I did one other site and all was seamless, but that one is a substantial disaster. I screened it on my computer and this laptop, in Internet Explorer in addition to Mozilla Firefox plus it worked fine. I checked it today on my work computer and its a disaster. I am speculating the monitor dimensions has something related to it Also, it can not show up on google, even once i type in my web addess directly into google, it still doesn’t come up. If anyone is willing to consider my site and also tell me what i’m doing wrong, let me be forever indebted to you personally. online world. southendgardens. com Thanks a ton!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no problems on the site. Love those purple flowers in your home page! You will have very big still left and right margins within the main text spot. That will cause issues on cheaper resolutions. Additionally, you’re using framesets. I know that’s causing Search engines issues. It’s no longer helping your usability, both! Thank you for your info. I removed folks search that was in the very bottom in the page and it looks like … Continue reading

Photoshop CS4 for building Websites???

I realize a guy whom makes 200k each year, and designs internet sites in Photoshop CS4. I’m not going for you to post the illustration but will describe what I saw from the " code": – A lot of spacer gifs along with other images. No genuine navigation, but non published numbers and email communications information. He is the best artist, but claims to become good in math to the issue of Quantum Physics. Why can’t he create AJAX, PHP, or perhaps XHTML for this sake Anyways, contact me jealous, for the reason that getting paid SIX HUNDRED. 00 to ONE, 700. 00 a website for something thrown together in a WYSIWYG seems similar to highway roberry in my opinion! Welcome to an unpleasant truth. When sales climbs up against web design — web site design loses. Until and unless you can couple a killer sales pitch with sound web site design, that’s the way things will stay. I will point out the trashy signal does open some sort of stellar opportunity — for a sales person. My suggesting is always to dump the next code fad for a stint learning sales. It is every single bit as tough as … Continue reading
