New guy with simple questions

Heya guys, I’m a java programmer by school. Right now I’m looking to help out a pal build a page for his internet business. I have simply no real HTML/CSS, PHP experience but over the last couple days Now i’m picking it ” up ” pretty quickly. The questions: I keep seeing websites this way one where the many content is at the center and the region are greyed out or some other color. almost appear like it’s on paper. I’m wondering on the web get that effect Learn how to make it therefore different links seem different using style sheets Much like the menu items VERSUS the content links within the middle Eventually, how do I produce a static navigational menu for the left and include only the content to the right of it change based on where the user desires to go I think it must be pretty simple however I can’t seem to find the right tutorial along with I’m pretty new to doing this (2 days) haha. IE Displaying page wrong please help

I’ve a simple HTML/CSS/Javascript web page that works wholly fine with most of other browsers with the exception of IE (Go number right). Well longer story short IE exhibits the homepage while all black. For instance as if you place the website to simply have a background shade of black and nothing else. It only does this within the homepage and no of the some. I could post the rule if needed however I haven’t had the opportunity to find what exactly is causing this to be able to happen and Relating to the feeling Now i am overlooking something very simple. Gap bw Pic and Nav-bar

Hellooooo, We are trying to surface the homepage of the website… I do the rough keeping in photoshop.. this also is my 1st attempt slicing…. Subsequent are my problems: ONE. After the header, while i try to squeeze image followed from the nav-bar.. the nav-bar winds up behind the img. I tried this sometimes using a separate div for every part. Finally used to do it just one after another (without css.. just simply html). but i end up getting a gap bw the image and nav icon…. ONLY TWO. The same difference appears wen i try and put a bill under every gallery photo… Feel i missing your code here The reason why dint my div space in CSS work Any help is going to be appreciated…. <! Certified in HTML & CSS

Hi WDF, Today I officialy turned certified in WEB CODING 4. 0, XHTML A SINGLE. 0, and CSS at w3schools. I found the test easier than precisely what I thought and heard it would. I am conscious of what some people consider w3schools, being previous material, however most material for the exam, I identified, wasen’t in any in their tutorials. (Luckily I had gone through a number of sites). Hence now, being authorized in XHTML and CSS, what language a few pointer move onto I got thinking of undertaking some JavaScript, but not sure yet. PHP is actually a pretty powerful language, but not really much for web design as it is for world wide web development. Full website design outsourcing?

Hi there all Anything i havent considered in more detail before is outsourced workers. There are numerous little projects I can take on (about 1-2 days and nights work each as well as a couple more when compared with that in worktime) but I have no time so was making plans for outsourcing them. Would you mean how to style one like with photoshop (or similiar visuals program) or don’t you mean coding upward a template throughout html / css Why are you asking learning to make a template when your personal website states for you to make templates to your customers.
