Forum Layout

Hi everyone I need help on brussels. I am in the act of writing a forum script, but one problem My business is facing constantlly is easy methods to display so a lot information without cluttering in place the interface. For instance, take a typical post on WDF (or almost every other typical forum). This contains the the actual poster’s alias, avatar, lots of solutions (edit, view account, etc), and even more. Now multiply that per post in this thread, and you get lots of info to screen… But WDF’s design is just not messy. Some forums are messy though. So I have two questions: What elements does one like/dislike seeing in forums What the heck is your favourite design for these factors To present you something I considered: do you just like the poster’s alias above the post so they can its left (like about WDF) Almost every other comments, like smiley help, HTML support, and so on are welcome! Significantly appreciated. I believe, I wouldn’t develop the forums centered inside window or develop the users information who’s posting the reply or starting your thread above that text, I’d have this forums left aligned as well as auto stretch … Continue reading

page layout in photoshop

My organization is almost ready to start re-constructing www. thomasinamusic. com. In case you have not read the previous posts……. I’d prefer a static pic of Thomasina located or sitting for the right side of the screen while this content loads on the left side (and your pic and backdrop remain static by way of chaning links). I can begin laying out there the elements within photoshop, and then cut them up in imageready to start coding. My question is……. To possess my content always remain within the same location (a. k. a. Thomasina’s pic can be at the quite right edge on the browser window, whether minimized or maybe maximized or whatsoever screen resolution could be used) I am assuming I need to use percentages as an alternative to pixel values whenever positioning. Am I correct during this Also…….. when creating the elements inside photoshop, what size canvas will i need to work with (or is best) When always, thanks to everyone thus to their input. As much information and often give will often be greatly appreciated. To have Thomasina’s picture for the right side of the screen, you will use DIV positioning, something down the lines of: HTML: … Continue reading

Mark-up or Design, which comes first?

MY PARTNER AND I thought think this is certainly quite an exciting question to ask web developers. Which of most of these two comes first in the design process Some individuals may start about the composition and turn out by working on the code, other may take one other route. Start about the code, creating a bone like structure for the webpage and then consume by adding graphics Which can you use and why On earth do you feel there tend to be any benefits through doing either For a straight HTML web site, I start with all the graphics in Photoshop. I find that it is hard to start coding a web site when I dont know what it’s going to look like. If I’m coding in PHP however, MY SPOUSE AND I usually develop the actual PHP first, and build the design around the elements I want (text boxes, control keys, etc). I voted pertaining to design but again We’ve tried my hand in a bit of both. Sometimes I am going to just play all-around with CSS and try and make it while visually pleasing that they can with no shots, then add a couple of. But … Continue reading

Complete Page on Photoshop?

I’ve just been told by the pal that many pro designers will design a complete page on Photoshop, and then just past inside the image. Is this correct If you have, how can anyone add hyperlinks/rollovers etc to a part of an image Simply " pasting within the image" isn’t the way to build a webpage. Most people produce the interface with the website in Illustrator (all the artwork: banner, buttons, icons, etc), and in that case slice the layout and lay the actual pieces out utilizing HTML, usually implementing an HTML publisher.

And Finally what does one charge Thanks beforehand for your response. Whatever one does, I think it will be pretty darn tedious and time intensive. I do’nt think there is usually a shortcut as presently there isn’t anything that is automated. It’s going to take quite a long time and that’s of which. I would make sure to figure out how far this could take you and then just choose exactly what hourly figure anyone fancy. I think it could cost a considerable amount and it may take ages to complete inless you get many people in helping. I didn’t realise there are so many products with the sort of factor: -D I would up the cost and put a new team together to … Continue reading

Someone suggested implementing Network solutions. We have visited their website http: //www. networksolutions. com but all I can do is buy websites as i might normally from www. register. com. Does Network treatments offer cheaper domain names It is possible to advantage of having a tally with them Thanks earlier, Mitch…. The prices might be different. Really the only important thing to check out is whether or not You will be the domain title owner. With several registrars, you obtain domain name, nonetheless they actually private it. You is unable to move it or sell it. Read the policies carefully and ask questions if essential. Network Solutions Is a great company, but don’t know if the costs are any as good as anyone else. Yes, from what POST hear the website you buy is usually registered to these folks. Namecheap. com is actually good aparantly. My own are with directnic. com, good site, nice interface.

Microsoft enters the design market!

Men and women have always said it will eventually happen one of these brilliant days, well… it did. Microsoft have announced its new graphics iphone app called Acrylic. http: //www. microsoft. com/products/expression/ Take a look. I have had an exceptionally very quick engage in, and it’s not that bad. It’s only within beta so get it and see what you think. REPLACE: Read http: //www. bd4d. com/blog/p=50 for those more info plus an opinion coming from a good designer who has given it the test run already. I doubt it provides a large impact on the design area. There are strategy to many *die-hard* Adobe fans around to compete having. Exactly… Photoshop rules the structure world, just much like the Playstation. When the XBOX became available, the PS2 profits were still double that of XBOX LIVE. Acrylic will not become near when popular as Illustrator has ever been. Could they oftentimes make an interface any longer ugly Yes. I think they will have plenty of changes before the idea hits the stores but I think it provides more of an effect on the industry then consumers are anticipating. It’s Microsoft in the end and it some people didn’t think it … Continue reading
