Google Sites Feature: Impact on our Web Design Business?

Has anyone examined the new The search engines Sites feature used with each Google search I’ve had simply a quick look : haven’t yet tried developing a site – but for a new web designer seeking to offer " attractive, affordable" designs to small enterprises I find this somewhat worrying. Templates that users can adapt happen to be around for a while now if you know to discover them but Google is offering free hosting and a very simple, don’t-have-to-search way of developing a website.: nervous: Just about any thoughts Geocities 3. 0, that’s most of.

Newb working out the kinks

I have taken over our companies website (we are small and not looking to pay a reliable web designer, sorry) with the basic html awareness I learned in one section of the college course. We were using a bad website creation program i always can’t recall right this moment because I in no way touched it; Coursesmart that had been created for it was hideous and I want to to start through scratch. Basically I understand up enough in html and css to create a much nicer site than we had which is adequate for what we are doing, but you can find one issue i always can’t seem to find a consistent resolution for. I’m affraid which it’s probably a far more complicated solution than I want to dive into, but I’d at the least like to recognize. The main problem I am having is the site looks great once the browser window will be maximized, but once you shrink it, everything starts wrapping to stay in your window. Pretty much any website I view on-line does not make it happen. what I imply is, when you shrink the eyeport, things may correct but some stuff is take off … Continue reading

I personally think my site sucks. Here’s why…….

Homepage http: //www. shelby-sheriff. org/index. html Please get easy on me personally. I’m a complete novice when it comes to design. I do need to become an qualified some day. Let me try to retain this short. Firstly, I have any desktop support track record. Of course, my supervisors felt it will be a great idea to become the web designer after your partner left. So they sent me to some DWCS3, HTML, plus CSS classes. Naturally, that was plenty to digest. I was granted the undertaking of finishing the newest site for some of our Sheriff’s Dept. which was left undone. That was about Five months ago and still there is no site ready for any public. Keep in your mind I haven’t also been given any advice about this. I’ve basiclly been told to figure it out. Supervisors view it to be resourceful. I perspective it as unrealistic. Anyway, after first completion, the managers hated the form. I only finished what the last designer had started off. Mainly because POST still didn’t know enough about web design to make a whole overhaul without screwing ” up ” something. The CSS has become the steepest learning curve to me. … Continue reading

Newbie looking for advice

All right, I am looking to learn how to make my own website page. I learned plus was using Time period Web but it’s leaving plenty to be wanted. So, I picked up Web Designer’s Reference by Craig Grannell. It had been billed as some sort of " Integrated Method to Web Design along with XHTML and CSS. " It appears as though a pretty very good start but I want a better concept of where to move from here. The main questions are usually… YOU. Is just learning XHTML ok or do i have to/should I learn HTML also or instead regarding XHTML COUPLE OF. Should I obtain a book dedicated soley to CSS It appears as though there’s a whole lot more to learn so far as how to apply it. THREE OR MORE. Can anyone recommend the proper job books for learning any of these things or can one get away with just using no cost tutorials online Thanks in advance for the assistance. XHTML and HTML vary forms of exactly the same thing, essentially. HTML will always be more lax around its syntactic principles (closing tags, such as, are not strictly required a lot of the … Continue reading

IE5 Help

I’m currently developing an online site for a Student Accommodation. It’s perfect upon all browsers aside from IE5 and it has to be perfect on IE5 for your customer cos jane is using the IE5 Web browser. I have seemed up on tips and hints and as far as I’m sure already and have been confirmed from exploring around, Stylesheets aren’t compatible with IE5 so what on earth should I will i am completely lost, please help me personally. K-Webs It’s hard enough addressing IE6-IE7, and IE5 is actually worse. Merely were in your current shoes, I would simply ensure it is XHTML/CSS validated, designed for FireFox and adjustments created for IE6 and preceding. I would not really care that she is a customer in this article. She should not use IE5, and in the event you go through the many hours to make that right, just with regard to her, who’s to express her computer isn’t going to die and she then gets a different computer at IE7 or IE8 There comes your point where a web designer/developer has to be in charge of particular things, and this is one of these people… even at this point of shedding … Continue reading

Which is the best web designing software ??

im the latest web designer and we have used frontpage 2003 and dreamweaver, but i was not satisfied with rfrontpage whatsoever, dreamweaver was all right.. is the microsoft expression web 2. 0 the best you to definitely design a real professional web site may softwares like caffeine cup or different versions of dreamweave be superior to the expression web 2 bless you no designer quite as well as the human custom made friend. however thats just me personally. otherwise try drupal. What were you not very pleased of Notepad++ is the best friend man. When you are a Mac user there are plenty of options that tend to be both free and/or less expensive. A good example would be iWeb that can be free, or DreamWeaver which can be pretty inexpensive as much as software goes.

Need important tools for web design

I am the newbie in webpage design field in addition to am learning gear which would aid me make superior and attractive internet sites. Can you discuss some tools i always should look at for making an attractive website Almost everyone do our coding all personally. I’m keen on using Notepad++ http: //notepad-plus. sourceforge. net/uk/site. htm Google could be the other tool. Lots of people scoff at using templates, but usually there are some very nice templates (table-less CSS templates) without cost. You can get one you like and customize it, then it becomes unique in your case. Thanks plenty, yeah, people do scoff on using templates nevertheless when time could be the issue then we all do need aid right! You should using those free CSS " table-less" templates continuously. The primary reason I point " newbies" to the templates, is to learn from them. They might download the complete template and possess an " instant" online page where they might see the XHTML, this CSS, the layouts, photos, etc. and learn how they all work together. It gives them a chance to mess around with the CSS and see how the item works. It’s an awesome learning tool … Continue reading
