New web designer database help!!
My organization is a print graphic designer and have just started dabbling into web site design. I have successfully taught myself basic html not to mention designing the program. These are two sites i have done to date www. parplussupplies. com plus my personal internet site www. oliverdesigns. com just to offer an idea from the level I am at at the tables. We’ve a personal project that i am working on and need quite a few advice/help. This site require a search function where visitors can search a database and then narrow down their particular search from YOU to 4 parameters. Example: search by way of state or alphabetical get or size, or two or three variable etc, and so forth. Is this doable by way of novice and if you have can anyone provide me a basic outline of the way this works concerning how and where must put the records and possible a connection to a code that will access this records. I did a pinch of research on mysql plus php but still hasnt grasp the idea fully yet. Sorry guys my site is certainly www. olivergraphicdesigns. com To write a reliable search function you’re looking … Continue reading

Getting started…
My business is seriously considering pursuing a career using Web designing, what will i do get for informed about it first however I basically have only worked with webs. com and want more. Thanks! I’m looking send to my time frame here! WHEN I usually put that into two elements. 1) Developer: Can the graphics skill stuff, layouts, the way it looks, colours, fonts, templates, and so on. Understanding of photoshop, flash, photograph editing, file forms, etc. Usually an incredibly creative artistic person which includes a good eye with regard to design. 2) Web Developer: Does the very coding: XHTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL… the back-end work to render the particular page correctly in all browsers, XHTML/CSS validation, and the PHP/MySQL scripting intended for dynamic pages in addition to misc. programming wants. Most people are good at some of those, but not a great deal the other. Where does one fit in Definitely within the 1st category. I suggest if you pursue the field of web site design, you come to the table with great skills as being a graphic designer. You’ll in all likelihood be teaming-up along with another person (a programmer, web developer) or an organization that creates templates and designs web … Continue reading
CSS or Tables
Do you find it best to: Design a website so it is completely table-less OR…… Design a website where you work with tables for layout and CSS regarding presentation Continually #1 without exemption, although keep in your mind tables are the precise thing to use when representing tabular information. Use < div> rather than table and CSS with regard to presentation setting up Div for system and CSS with regard to presentation… Meh, you are doing know that they’re saying that tables should by no means be used (even intended for tabular data)… instead you’re designed to use < dt> < dd> tags.. I haven’t completely grasped/accepted that idea truthfully speaking but I do know from my a lot more recent research that tables = awful. Nonsense. In case you have data that is actually naturally represented implementing column headers and also rows, it’s any table by distinction. dl/dd/dt is just for lists of meanings. The entire point of semantic markup could be to use the label that describes the images, and a table is okay at describing a new table. Googling XHTML Validation and Tables…. I obtained enough links to choke a mule along with… But this guy seems … Continue reading

speeding up WP site
Hey Plainly cut and paste the source code from the page on this wordpress site in to dreamweaver and save as being a html page and also upload to my server the article works. If I did this with the pages on the site would this be operating as a static html site and load faster Or will it be still doing almost everything via the DB plus I’m just filling living with pointless physical exercises BTW there exists a members section in my site that is controlled by plugins. I imagine I’d keep this location and pages php. My main objective should be to stop losing pre sales on account of slow page loads… further info – I am using a shared server The server consumer service claim my own site loads slowly sometimes because it’s just a shared server and it’s actually a WP php site with lotsa plugins. You’ve probably figured I’m sure no coding….. almost any suggestions appreciated thanks it uses the actual db to grab content along with stuff, you cant get it done. Try gettign your web blog cached – unclear about wp, and you can turn this kind of on in joomla. Get … Continue reading

Anyone interested in two tutorials?
Okay We’ve two tutorials as their intended purpose, one being any PHP login form with a MySQL database back-end (sessions and a lot of other stuff involved) plus the second is your CSS3 AERO communication box, someone okay know which one they’d want to see first and by on this occasion tomorrow, I really should have it done, otherwise at least 90% with it I’d like to see the PHP login – I am aware how PHP works but We would like to understand the right way to actually write them – I think this would be a very useful thing to own. Contemplating including regular expressions or a version of a validation as well Thanks so much website marketing . willing to venture to the trouble of doing this – whichever one you get doing I am sure we’ll get great info from this. Just with the login, the only validation I’ll actually need to do is compare values, no expressions engaged. However, if you wish me to incorporate a registration guide, I can do that too The registration will demand expressions to verify format of e mail addresses, character types, etc… Usually next time i do something that … Continue reading
connecting contact form to personal email
e Here ‘s your form (below)… the part around red is what exactly sends it to a PHP script with regard to emailing it. Also add additional red parts… I’m less than sure what can happen with the href tag inside submit part. < type id=" form1" > < label> < input type=" text" name=" name" value=" Brand: " > < /label> < label> < input type=" tel" name=" phone" value=" Cellular phone: " > < /label> < label> < input type=" email" name=" email" value=" Contact: " > < /label> < labeled class=" text" name=" mess" > < textarea> Meaning: < /textarea> < /label> < course class=" btns" > < a href=" #" rel=" reset" > Clear< /a> < a href=" #" rel=" submit" > Send< /a> < /span> < /form> =================== Then you will need the PHP script in order to process it. Below is really a bare-dones script without the need of validation, no captcha, outright a basic contact send. Call this town " sendit. php" and upload inside same directory because your form. PHP: < php$recipient = “DaniellaKramerhotmail. com”; $subject = “Daniella Kramer – Website Contact”; // where to go after it gets sent … $redirect = … Continue reading
